girls with long hair don't wash hair as frequently because they lose more hair.

FWIW, the obsession with cleanliness and paranoia concerning "germs" is unhealthy; you need regular exposure to microbes and virii to keep your immune system primed and ready to fight infection. Don't hand your kids an antibacterial wipe every time they soil their hands. Let them eat a little dirt from time to time. They'll be healthier adults for it.

I shower daily because I don't like feeling grimy and sweaty. It has nothing to do with germs. The only times I won't shower daily is if I'm inactive from sickness or injury, and don't get that disgusting feeling.

I think the suggesting being made to you is that the "disgusting feeling" is in your head and is unnatural. You don't work on a farm or washing dishes or sandblasting, do you? If you're an office worker and come home 'disgusting' then you need to get healthier or stop soiling yourself maybe.

For me, unless I'm working out or doing projects outside or something, I only shower every other day. My eczema just flairs and gets pissed because of it (hard water). OTOH, if I were to go too long without a shower, the same happens (oils, dirt, grime, etc..). Thankfully, we're finally getting a water softener installed this week.

Absolutely. Or, alternately, you can use a product called "toilet paper" after defecation to remove the remaining shit from your ass. Unless you are actively scrubbing the inside of your rectum with a brush while you shower, I don't see how bathing daily is going to do anything for your "nasty ass."

Really, it sounds like you just need to learn how to wipe properly.

btw, this is also dependant on your location. In the wintertime is different than summertime. In a place with high humidity, you're gonna WANT to shower daily. When I was in HK for vacation, I showered 3x a day.

she's got really thick, really dry hair. it takes 3-4 hours to fully air dry.
Plus I'm convinced her shampoo budget would slowly bankrupt her.

I, on the other hand, have to wash my greasy hair everyday.

I shower daily because I work out a lot and I sweat a lot when I exercise. However, there are a few days each week where I run at night and then do core strength in the gym the following morning, so I only shower after the gym. Showering 9 or 10 times a week would be too much .

Bathing every day is largely unnecessary as most people don't get dirty enough over the course of a day to justify completely washing their body on a daily basis. It wastes water, it fills the waste water with chemicals in the shampoo and soap which need to be treated at a plant before they can be deemed safe to reenter the water cycle, and it aids in the proliferation of resistant bacteria due to the abundance of anti-bacterial soaps. In short, it's a terrible fucking idea for most people to bathe every day. Maybe these women just realize that.

Or maybe they're just filthy hippies.

whether they use shampoo/ conditioner or not that water will be treated.

Opposite? As in, your hair gets dry if you don't wash it? That's... interesting.

If I go longer than a day my hair without showing my hair gets pretty oily. But then again, the natural oils are far better than having the fresh out of the shower dry hair for half a day. I keep my hair nice and short on the sides but keep enough hair on the top that it either nearly stands upright when dry or falls flat when it becomes not so unnaturally dry.

I wash my hair every day, usually more. I take at least one bath a day, plus a shower or a bath in the morning depending on if I am working or not. Most days I take a third bath (or second if I showered). Sometimes I take four or five baths a day if I am not feeling well. If I am feeling really sick, I may take up to 15 baths in a day. Most of the time I wash my hair if I bathe or shower as I feel uncomfortable if I don't.

I take a shower usually every day except Saturday. I'll be lazy and skip until Sunday morning before church. If I wake up late in the morning, I'll just wipe my face and head on out to work. I have a desk job and am skinny, so I never sweat unless I exert myself. As for my wife, she stays at home with our 7 month old son. She'll take a bath with him every other day, but wash her woman parts nightly.

Her brother is the same way - except without a girlfriend to force regular showering - he does it when his family goes out to eat about once a quarter. Seriously - once a quarter.

Before the aforementioned girl got her current boyfriend and was single - she also showered quarterly. They are my wifes best friends, but boy can they stink up a room. They aren't particularly unattractive people either, just never learned to shower everyday and think we all don't notice.

I think WoW might have something to do with it - but they were this way before they bothe got enraptured by the call of Blizzard.

I have no idea why they don't automatically shower every day - I know that I sure as hell have gone a weekend without it, but always bright and early on Monday morn I'm in there scrubbing my ass. It's an everyday thing for me. I don't talk to them about it, I don't mention it - I just sort of look past it as it isn't my business. Now my wife and I enjoy a snicker or 3 at their expense...
