A few of you might've followed my workout threads.

Well, I'm seeing gains, slowly but surely. And I like body building - it's fun - and it makes me feel better about myself. I realized that if I could actually put on a bit more muscles, I'd have a great body. I now know how to put on muscle, and I've never had any problems with fat (I was a skinny freak!). Before that, my greatest asset was always that girls said I was cute.

If only I'd spent all of my youth working out instead of playing everquest... and magic the gathering... and programming... sigh. Oh well.

Anyway, if I put together cute + good body, I should be getting somewhere with the women, right?

I'm not expecting most women to notice the small gains I've made so far, but as my body fills out, I'm wondering for any of you who aren't fat slobs or skinny nerds... (damn is there anyone left? )... do you notice that women pay attention to you more when your muscles are bigger?

Is the only thing they notice biceps? I do a full workout - chest, arms, shoulders, back, abs, legs -- but really, women can't see any of that stuff unless I were to get them in bed.

In general, I'm looking for some discussion on the topic of women and attraction to muscles. I have no problem meeting and talking to women, I'm just wondering what the enhancement factor is like.

i'm what most people would call a scrawny freak (<5% body fat) and i don't have any real trouble with ladies. in my experience they havn't cared all that much about muscle specifically. i'd say as long as you're in good shape you're golden.

I don't think that counts as a muscle. It expands because of blood flow, not muscle contraction.

Well, my ex girlfriend didn't really care about muscles. But a lot of girls DO. It depends what you mean by "don't have any trouble." I don't have any trouble with girls and a lot of things, but when it comes to finding one for dating, yes, I encounter some trouble.

From an attention-getting standpoint, I'd say that a good V-tapered torso counts more than any specific muscle. Women and muscles can be weird; you'll have women walk up to you at random and announce that they think muscles are gross ("okay; whatever") and you'll have random women groping you (particularly chest, biceps, and butt).

But, in case you're worried, they pay attention to a lot of body parts besides biceps. Biceps are probably pretty low on the list for most.

Hmm, yes, there's one girl in my class who randomly grabbed my arm the other day, then went "holy crap!" when I flexed. She loved that.

Haven't had anyone grab my ass or my chest yet, LOL.

If you show it off, it's not like girls won't look at all. I get checked out fairly often when I wear your typical metrosexual crap.

I can conceal my big arms, shoulders, and that V-tapered back without too much of a problem if I so choose. My biceps are actually kinda small in relation to my triceps, which because of my long arms are big. But when I wear a short sleeve shirt... it's a bit hard to conceal big arms... and girls will look. I'm honestly not that big in terms of mass, but I'm fairly defined and sculpted. And some girls LOVE the booty.

I talked to some girls that I didn't see for quite a while when I was away at college and working elsewhere. Came back to the area and they suddenly gave me more than just the time-of-day just because of the way I dressed and I got lots of "wow, you've got big arms" etcetc. with the typical stroking and crap like that. Dang, time to go to the gym!

There are, indeed, excercises for that. You can actually grow muscles there although it won't really make a huge difference.
