I have to say it, because I think some of us here know what can happen. IF you must, just a tad bit will do, and make sure the bottle has a large enough opening. OBSOLUTELY NO GLASS.

Relax. It doesn't explode. It only burns the vapors on top of the alcohol. Eventually, the bottle would get hot enought that it would shatter, and then you'd have a big pool of alcohol burning, but water puts out alcohol fires quickly.

I do this with 90%+ isopropyl. Glass won't break because there's not much pressure in the first place. Heat would make it break though.
