Saw it a few days ago.

- The visuals were amazing. From paradise to war, I'm betting there's going to be some kind of award given there.
- Chris Pine is someone I normally can't stand...but somehow became unusually likeable in this movie.
- Gal Gadot =
- The movie dragged a bit in the middle. At 2.5 hours, it could have done with a little more editing, but they were probably afraid to do so after over-editing BvS.
- Gal Gadot =
- The ending was a bit disappointing and corny. Felt like it was a bit miscast too. Reminded me of the end of Iron Man.
- Gal Gadot =
- I liked the "fish out of water" scenes. They could have played that up a little more (like in Christopher Reeve's Superman)
- The supporting characters were actually pretty interesting. Wouldn't mind seeing them again.
- Did I mention Gal Gadot?....

That seems waaay too low and in TV show episode territory...

That has to be plus residuals. If not her agent should commit seppuku.

This movie is in my top 4 comic book movies. (Iron Man 1, Guardians 1, and First Avenger are the others). Loved the retro feel (also what I liked about First Avenger).

$300,000 is more than some big company CEO's $1 USD annual salary.

Gal Gadot will earn a lot more from bonuses.

I read that roughly the same salary was given to Chris Evans for the first Captain America. Actors without lead experience in a spinoff. Not that big a deal. Especially when you factor in the lack of popularity of past DC movies.

Missed the whole Lynda Carter thing because of no tv while growing up.

In pictures and an interview I read, Lynda Carter was / is a worthy example of a true WW. Smart, poised, a fine woman, pretty now, must’ve been a super hottie back then.

Saw this new flic in 3D…Wow what a spectacular movie! Especially the character evolution over the events in the movie. Captain Kirk scored a great role for himself here too.

But…
if ONLY they would’ve gotten a pretty young girl instead of this middle-aged fem. Gal Gadot might be a wonderful gal, and I suspect she is, but she’s no great beauty (any more).

Choice of lead actress must have been political or about the predominately Jewish Hollyweird culture and Jew’s fealty to Israel, or something like that. Surely Gal Gadot wasn’t the “best beauty+brains+martial arts skill" because > millions (literally) of VASTLY prettier, 12-year younger California girls could have carried the role (high ideals+character transformation+ elite highest beauty+supreme physical fitness+accomplished martial arts skills) SIGNIFICANTLY better, (here in Calif girls like that are dime a dozen) and would have better positioned the production company for staying-power into many future years of sequels. Gal Gadot has basically already aged-out now, she did good but is past her prime time and should turn her obviously fake bra padding back in to the prop master. I bet in real life she’s a great gal.

If you haven’t seen it, it’s a good story, good effects, better than most holyweird crap. See in 3D!

this movie was good till the end.
what cheese.

Bracelets of 'Deus ex machina' anyone?
silly superhero poses.
and the special effects looks like it was homemade by someone using free software.

This movie was insanely boring, regardless of how hot Gal Gadot is.
I agree in both respects. About half way through I found myself pulling out my phone to see how much longer the movie was going to run. I shouldn't have gone to it because cartoon character movies don't do anything for me and I knew that. But she is a gorgeous woman and that helped tremendously.

Decent movie, but was overhyped and wasn't anything special. Gal Gadot was hot, and they made sure to remind of that every 5 minutes even though movie dialogue, but everything else was pretty ho-hum.

  • I really hated the quick scene after Ares revealed himself, and then you see a shot of after Zeus zaps his ass... and he has the same goofy Englishman mustache back then that he has during WW2. Really? I could get behind showing Ares at that point looking different (different facial hair at least) and then he "adapted to the times" by changing his appearance to blend in, but seeing that dweeb looking Englishman after falling from the sky wearing those arm guards was absurd.
  • What kind of powers does Ares have anyway? I get he's a god, but moving things with his mind has never been something I've connected to Ares. The final battle was something out of x-men, and IMO was just out of place regardless of how well the visuals were done.
  • Did they make Chris Pine into an American pilot to appeal to us, or is he incapable of acting well enough to pull off an English accent? Would have made more sense to just be a Brit, but what do I know.
  • There were Germans already waiting for Chris Pine when he got to London, and seemed to recognize him as the guy who stole the journal (IIRC). But he wasn't recognized later in the movie by any of those Germans, even the scientist lady who he stole it from. Did they just forget because they didn't need the book anymore?
  • If Wonder Woman was the weapon who could kill Ares, why was her mom so worried that Ares would seek her out merely if she knew about it? If Ares has the power to track her down, why would he wait until she realized she can kill him?
  • What happened to Zeus? Did he die? The story said something about him giving the last of his energy into his attack against Ares, but I didn't think that meant he died in doing so.

Worth noting that the studio wanted MORE at the end (not better effects mind you, just a longer drawn out fight). I can't imagine anything worse at the end of an otherwise enjoyable movie.

She was trained by the best super warrior for eon, she is a warrior, she is a leader, she has to balls to do the right thing even before she realize the power within and she is a "god". Unlike superman who is just a dude with superpower, he don't even have the balls to save his father. Batman has the balls but he stand no chance against superpower.

her gauntlets are made from zeus aegis in the comics which (later in the comics) gave her some ability to blast lightning from them.

I'm used to the ww TV show w/Linda Carter where all Amazons have bracelets and lassos.

I guess that got rebooted in those 4 decades

Wonder Woman just beat Man of Steel's world wide box office even counting inflation from 2013 to 2017.

it's on track to catch up to Suicide Squad in a week or two.

That's only after about 30 days of release. There is the outside chance it could catch up to BvS but then WW was introduced in BvS and was the best part of that movie besides BatFleck so that doesn't matter so much imo.

Wonder Woman is better than Man of Steel based on box office and critics reviews.... but then that's not too hard considering Zack Snyder turned him into a murderous neck-breaking emo-man...

Honestly, I think it's still a better movie than SS, even if it doesn't manage to beat SS in terms of revenue, though it will anyways I liked MoS more because it offered a newer, darker, relate-able perspective on Supes, which was rather refreshing. WW origin has been touched too many times in different mediums even though for movies, this was a first. Still a better movie than BvS and SS though.

It's better than MoS no doubt as well.

Making Superman an imitation of Batman didn't make him more interesting it just made him an Elseworld version of Superman....
