And man is it fun, I took it out this afternoon, I live in upstate new york and there was about a 2000% humidity today. It's a ton of fun. That thing friggin' flies. I bought it from a family friend for $1,300, it's a 94' Sea-Doo Bombadier (sp.) it rips, and it's wicked fun. Just thought I'd announce that to the board.

I don't know, I got it today, I haven't clocked it yet, but I'm going up to camp with a few friends this weekend, I know their boat pretty much maxes out at 35, and I figured I was doing at least that.

If anyone wants to do research to find out how fast it actually goes... it's a 1994 Sea-Doo Bombadier SP, that would be particularly useful information... or at least entertaining.

I wear a Sea-Doo "Bombardier" life vest when I'm out Paddle Surfing.
And on a big enough wave, I bet I go almost 10 MPH. Maybe even 15.

So your jetski must go at LEAST 15 MPH!!!!!1!1!

Don't kill yourself.
Seriously.
Where I come from you have to have $500k liability insurance on those!

oh it is fun, but to be able to go it's fastest, you have to catch a really calm day. Otherwise it's just fun hitting the waves.

My Detroit Mafia uncle (ok, not really, but you'd definitely think he was with all his expensive stuff and the whole Italian hospitality thing) has a couple of them. One goes about 60 the other one goes 65-70. Damn those things are fast. They're fun

Your 94 SP has a 580 cc motor and in stock form depending on your weight goes between 38-42 mph roughly.

No jetski unless highly modified will go 65 or above. The RXX is the fastest stock pwc and is made primarily for racing. It will do lowto mid 60's.

The dream-o-meter on pwc's is just that, a pipe dream. The second and third fastest pwc's on the market are the Kaw ultra 150 and Yamaha 1200 GPR with the new honda 4 stroke turbo close behind.

Modified skis are another matter. One of the fastest modified pwcs I have heard of is a 1996 seadoo xp with the x4 hull. It has a VE 970 motor with stroker crank, bored out, etc and will do low to middle 70's

I own 2 kaw x2's that do high 30's and a 1997 kaw zxi that does around 50-55 mph on a nice day on glass. My dream ski is a 1996 xp or 1997-1998 spx (x-4 hulls rock), with a lightly modded 787 seadoo motor..

I had a 95 SPI.. same body stile (x-4 hull), and same motor.

The motor sizes for seadoos are 580, 650, 720, 800, and 951.

The first three use rotary valves and normal porting.

The 800 uses a rotary valve but also has rave valves on the cylinder.

The 951 is a reed motor.

All are two stroke, 2 cylinder.

The latest seadoo is called the 4tek and has I believe a 1500 cc motor making 150 hp but dont quote me. Also check out news://rec.sport.jetski for more info

For hp ratings, weight, etc, go to www.nadaguides.com and click the boats link to take you to your make and model. Yours has a 55 hp motor which is the same as my spi was. Small motor but it hauls and is a blast to ride on.

I have also owned a polaris sl 650 and a kaw 440 in the past.
