Computer F'in Magic.

Ok, this will stump everyone and I don't expect an answer. I have a router. I have two computers connected to this network. I am connected to dsl. I have been running this network flawlessly for months since I moved into this house. No problems, ever. My mom catches the loveletter virus two weeks ago. It doesn't keep her from getting on the internet though. I clean it out completly, using the latest version of McAfee virusscan. It continued to work. Up until two days ago, her computer just won't connect to anything outside the network. She can still connect to my computer, download my files, connect to the router, etc. Everything works normally. The settings are the exact same as they were before. The other computer just will not connect to the internet, yet my computer, and two other frankensteins I have sitting in the corner both work flawlessly as well.

What's the problem? I don't expect an answer, but if any of you network gurus can think of anything just let me know. I'll respond to tell you whether or not its been done.

Double check to make sure your default gateway is right, also check DNS.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling TCP/IP. To do that, Open up Control Panel and double click on "Network", you should see TCP/IP in the box, remove it then reboot. Once it is back up, go back to Control Panel, double click on "Network" click "Add", then click on "Protocals" and click "Add" then click on "Microsoft" on the box on the left, then click on "TCP/IP" and hit okay. Let it install, and then reboot it again (this is for Windows 95/98/ME).

Does this help at all?

Has your DSL modem changed at all? Had it replaced maybe? Some modems only allow x number of mac addresses which prevents you from networking your connection with more than x number of computers.

Try turning off/unplugging the modem, disconnect 1 working computer. Boot the modem, then reboot your problem computer and see if you can access the net.

Thats about all I can think of.
