My company is sending me to Boston in two or three weeks. I will stay over the following weekend.

What should I do and see in Boston? Help me out here, I've never been there.

I am a real lightweight when it comes to drinking , so bar hopping is out of the question. I want to enjoy and remember this trip!

What should I do with my two extra days?

I was there once and I was in a part of town that had brick streets and brick everything. That part of town was a lot of fun (I was a little drunk so I don't remember the name of the area)

if you go to harvard, do not ever eat at a place nearby called hong kong. Go to yin ching or something, it's near the square. Oh and don't eat at Tommy's House of pain i mean pizza either. If you go see the stupid statue, don't rub his shiny foot, it's nasty. Harvard is boring too, so don't stay here too long, go somewhere else.

the big dig, they are like running a huge 10 lane highway, under half the city, and the other half, is land fill over what used to be a harbor, so that's like sinking into the sea... but boston's cool, it's got an Italian section. Little italy, or somthing. and lots of technology, just stay away from Natick. mass. find a native to guide you, oh r you from calif? the massachusettes drivers are nuts, (from CT) and every time you get on a high way for more than 15 mins, you'll find some guy with mass plates so far up the butt of your car, you'd think he was trying to change your oil.

<< Haaavad Yard >>

bastard!

A great place to eat is a place called fire & ice. Best & the most original. Place called Tatsucihi [sp?] is the best for Japanese food. Have fun.

fire & ice serve what kind of food? I have been told that I could get some really good seafood. I don't trust the restraunts in Minnesota that advertise fresh fish (ocean).

Heh, something like that. We call it the North End, check it out and make sure you get some Canolli's there, they're the best in the world.

Wonder what Ark has against Natick.

(Not every small town is the
home of a famous football quarterback).

Sundog, Salem is a little north of Boston, about a 30 min drive I'd say. Too bad the weather is so bad today...

If you're really interested in GOOD seafood,
come on down Maine (an easy drive)
and have a genuine Maine lobster.

Salem is about an hour by commuter rail.

Don't go to Salem, there's plenty right here in Bean town!!!!

If you like the club scene, then Landsdowne Street is the place to be. If you're a little more mature (no offence club hoppers of the world), then the MFA is fabulous. And don't worry about traffic -- just take the T. The Science Museum is also fairly good, if you like that.

If you can get an expensed dinner, the view from the Top of the Hub restaurant (top of the Prudential Center) is fabulous -- aside from the cookie desert, the food is dreadful -- and terribly expensive.

If you like burgers, The Pour House on Boylston, across from the Hynes Convention Center (and a little bit west), is a fabulous place for burgers. Saturday nights is half priced burger night -- you can get an excellent burger, as you like it, great fries, and a drink, for less than MacDonalds. I went there all the time before I became a vegetarian.

I'm not sure if the looking pool is full, but the Church of Scientology on Massachusetts Avenue is very pretty, as is the Boston Commons. If you can afford to waste some money, the Children's Museum and the Computer Museum are right next to each other, along with a giant milk bottle -- don't ask. While as an adult you probably wouldn't want to spend too much time there, it's fun to just wander through.

Also, check the Boston Globe to see if there's anything scheduled for that weekend -- http://www.boston.com .

If you can get tickets to Blue Man Group, do so. The show is wonderful. Although be careful that whatever you wear is washable -- depending on where you sit, it could get messy.

If you have any desire to go shopping, the expensive shops are all along Newbury Street. For more "normal" shopping, take the Green Line outbound to Lechemere. Two blocks from there is the Cambridge Side Galleria -- one of the best malls I have ever shopped in. And it has a Cheesecake Factory in it. Good grub.

But for a more Boston experience... try Legal Seafood. Expensive, but I've heard it's very good. (Again, that vegetarian thing!) Also, the limeade is reportedly wonderful.

Okay, that's all of the top of my head. If you have any specific interests, feel free to PM me and ask about some random topic.

Enjoy your visit!

(And dress WARMLY -- it's freakin' freezin!)

Naked Fish has some good seafood.

No tour of Boston is complete with out trips to such scenic areas as Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, and Saugus.
