WOOHOO!!! Posting from laptop, finally!!!

Hey all. Man this thing ROCKS!!! I am even getting a faster internet connection on this thing! 34666 instead of 28.8!!! I am so glad I got this thing. I have to say that Im still shocked that this thing is faster than my Athlon 750/128MBPC133/Geforce2MX based system, but I think I know why - This has a NEWER P3 700 with the integrated L2 cache on a 440BX chipset(mobile), where as my Atlon 750 had the separated L2 cache running at 2/5ths (40%) on a VIA KT133 chipset. I just hope its worth the $$$ I paid for it!!!

Congrats on your new acquisition. I'm looking for a laptop myself.

It's weird that you say it's faster than your desktop, because it shouldn't be. (at least nothing you can notice) And the MX should definitely be faster than an ATI mobility. What makes it faster is probably the fact that it's newer, and doesn't have so much crp on it. A fresh OS install is always faster.

I got a n HP laptop but I prefer my desktop over any laptop. So are you replacing you laptop with a desktop?

well wait a bit longer for a laptop: ill probably get one next summer; by then nvidia's geforce2 GO video cards should be widely available in the laptop market

Yup, its replacing my desktop. I cannabalized the desktop and sold off the main unit for 400 bucks, its not worth much since the CPU and DVD is bad...
