I WANT TO GO SNOWBOARDING NOW!!!
(why does the week have to be so long?)

Local SoCAL Ralphs Supermarkets are selling Lift tickets (The 8 hour pass) for $29 for Mountain High Ski Resort in <edit> Wrightwood </edit>, California. Usual lift ticket prices are about $40 for first timers. This deal is good until end of season sometime in March or April 14th not sure exactly....someone post if they know for sure....

Good deal if you're buying tickets in singles otherwize I think you may be able to get a better deal on group or season passes. Oh, and try to rent equipment down here though, it can get pretty crazy up there after 10...soo head out early!!!

YAY!! I WILL SEE YOU AT THE SLOPES!!!

Now does anyone have a good deal on Board rentals?

Boy the conditions for the local mountains (mtn high, big bear) have all been piss poor. Good luck boarding on ice, dirt and grass.

What we need is rain all right...:disgust:

...board rentals? Usually not too much cheaper but better quality stuff when you rent it at the 'bottem' of the hill (local sport/ski store..). But more of a hassle (to check out then return). Didn't they let you use the Ralph's ticket as a lower moutain only ticket in exchange for free rentals last year? From that you can upgrade, for something like $10 bucks I belive correctly, to a the normal full mountain. So $38 (28 at ralphs, 10 upgrade) for full mountain and rentals. This is how it was in the past, might have changed(?).

Oh yeah, if you have the whole weekend to spare, most places at the bottem of the hill let rent you the gear for like 2 days, so if you want you can go two days in row with just on rental. However, if you really go that often you probabley already have your own gear and season tix

The six pack of tickets (8 hour, transferable) for 139 was a great deal if you go a lot or have friends, but it was only supposed to be available until 12/31/01. They were great last year. I'm going to try to find some anyway at local sporting goods stores. More six pack info

Also noticed you get a free ticket on your birthday. Wonder what they'll say when my twin brother and I show up. More birthday info

They are also selling the quad packs for about $60. Visit their web site (www.mthigh.com). These are for night boarding thou (5:00 - 10:00) however 5 hours for 15 bucks is a good deal. Besides, its always crowded over the weekends till 4 to 4:30ish, so by 5, there will hardly be any lines. Good thing about these are after 4/1/02 (or was it 5/1/02.. cant remember), they turn into full day 8-hr tickets... just hope the season doesn't suddenly end before that time. Its not too bad at night. Its lit up pretty decently, but it gets pretty cold.. but what do you expect from a snow sport?

Bastards at Mountain High said the six pack was offered till 12/31, but many outlets were sold out before Thanksgiving. We even called them direct and they were out before the 30th. Anyway, snow conditions blow right now, which is okay since I broke a rib weekend before Christmas (unbelievable snow, even for Mountain High). If any of you want to invest a little time, Jiffy Lube might be worth checking out. They're offering 2 for 1 passes to Snow Summit with the purchase of an oil change. If you don't need the oil change, camp out and offer a few bucks to non-snowboarders (that's what I'm doing Saturday, loading up on the 2 for 1's for the rest of the season).

if ur a beginner and only go on the bunny slopes.. (snowflake, coyote, etc) it'll be cheaper if you buy the 200 point ticket. everytime you go on the shorter/beginner lifts, it takes off 10 points. im pretty sure that the beginners don't even reach 10 lifts in one day. i ended up only using 90 points last time with 110 points to use for the next time i go. the ticket costs $39, so it's kinda like paying 19.50 for two tickets.

now i ride the mountain ridge express.. and it costs 20 points, so i'll be sticking to the ralph's tickets.

The 3peat for success program is the best. it involves:
3 lower mountain lift tickets for 1 person
3 board/boots rentals for 1 person
1 full mountain pass
all for $100. It rocks. The conditions suck up at the mountain tho, it's been rainy, not snowey and you grind on some serious ice.

I'm with Kamazon. The 3 peat can be used for even intermediate skiers and those lessons usually only have two or three people. One time mid-week, I basically got a personal lesson with an advanced instructor! Moreover, they'll usually take you on the Blue Ridge express at least once which is the upper mountain. All in all, a hot deal!

heheh. im going up to Mountain High tommorow, Knew about the Ralph's discount, cause its posted on the Mountain High website.

As for good deals on RENTING boards/bindings/boots, Sports Chalet is your best bet. Cost me 30$ plus tax. and i get to return it monday (rented the stuff Saturday afternoon).

Guess thatS it, and we'll probably run into each other at the slopes and wont even know it. heehee.
