Wooo, Speed Upgrade! Finally!

SBC Yahoo doubled the upload for free at the end of October and all lines in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area were already done.

I checked religiously for my upload increase because it's important. Still nothing =(

today i signed up for the dslreports.com forums and asked around. PM one of the tech support for SBC Yahoo about my update. When i get back from dinner and check, FASTER! not just my upload but he uncapped my download.

old speed: 640 / 128
new speed: 1200 / 215

price: $30 / month. no increase in money, great value.

yesterday i got a letter regarding the drop in price for being a customer. if they don't drop my speeds, imma end up paying 27 bucks a month the next year for my internet. soo awesome! lol, btw my friend is still on AOL DIAL-UP and he pays $24 / month. I tried

Dammit, they still haven't upgraded the lines in South San Jose yet. It's cool though...I've been getting 1200/128 but 256 upload would be nice too.

256 upload still isn't enough, imho... I'd rather have a 1.5/768 plan than a 3.0/256.

i could deal with that, 3.0/256 from cox here

then again, i dont do much uploading at all...be nice sometimes i think though, when i do upload it takes a long freaking time (at least it feels that way, man im impatient)

i'm supposed to be getting 1.5/128or256(not sure) from verizon because of the upgrade over the summer.

i've been testing over the past couple of days, and i've never gotten past 6xx/9x. when i called verizon up, they tested and gave me readings of 710/120 & suggested i talk to another rep to help with the upgrade since i shouldn't be that low. i get transfered, & they tell me they don't handle that, billing does(even though it won't cost me anything?). naturally they were closed then. guess i'l have to call back.

yeah, i'd rather have 1.5/768 than 3.0/256...the upload comes in handy sometimes

esp if u try to play multiplayer games with ur friends ..privy server. 256upload for many is just sad.

Don't even get me started with Verizon.


PS If it's Verizon, and a consumer account, the maximum upload is 160.

theres an absurd message size limit until u have 10 visits whatever that means, i tried to log in and out 10 times, that didn't work. bah, emailed the guy instead.

well i just tested my line at my house, 215 kbps upstream, nice...i guess we got a lil upgrade while i was at school.

I have SBC DSL in SoCal and I consistently get 315kb upload....I originally signed up for 1.5/128, then threatened to switch to RR, and they offered me 1.5/256 for $26.95 so I took it.....starting sometime in November, my upload was raised again (without my knowledge)....It's a huge difference upping at 40KB/sec rather than 16KB/sec.

... i know you tried at dslreports .. but you should try again. the 2 or 3 techs there are very good.
