Anybody else sick of the American car bashing that happens every time someone posts something about them? Geez people, get a life. Not everyone wants a freaking Civic with a 3 foot wing ("3000 pounds of downforce!") and LEDs on the wheels. If you were in the market for a relatively new SUV with tons of features, what non-American vehicle would you suggest?????

That wouldn't happen to be Spitzer in Amherst, OH would it? I used to live 1/2 mile from there when they were only a GMC/Chevy dealer. They just picked up Volkswagen about a year or so ago. They sell the most new Corvettes in Ohio and rank like 5th in the country. My buddy used to be the Financial Manager there.

If you aren't talking about the same dealership, forget everything you just read and it will self-destruct in 5 seconds

Haha, he's a walking stereotype.

Taken a look at your local gas station lately?

Cherokee got 12-14 mpg. Envoy gets 16-21. It's an upgrade for me

I'd be curious to see if there is really much real world difference in mpg between those two.

So, you traded a vehicle that was paid off? Gas would have to jump to $5/gallon before that made financial sense.

He didn't say gas mileage was the ONLY reason he got a new vehicle

Stupid idiots w/their collars up. And I thought all of those morons had rich daddy's to buy them Beamers

Great deal on the Envoy BTW

What kind of looser do you think I am that I'd be making payments on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee?

Heheh...anyway, I drive my cars until they die, and I've had 8 years with the Cherokee. Best car I've ever owned, but it was starting to get a zillion little things wrong with it. When the air compressor started going out, I said "That's it...time for another one." Problem is I don't care for the new Grand Cherokee's, and the Liberty's are way too small (I use the car for light hauling on the weekends- when I do my Lowes and Home Depot runs ). I ended up getting a ultra luxury SUV for the same price as I paid for the Cherokee 8 years ago.

The point of the thread was to give people an alternative idea on a way to take advantage of the GM pricing if the new cars were still too expensive for them.

Oh...and to point out the wierd preppy trying to dump his Jetta at the dealership

I don't know that I'd call it "ultra luxury." It's still got the SRX arranged above it. And then there's a multitude of Euros that cost more than double what a Trailblazer costs.

I like the I6 in them though. I heard one with dual exhaust, it sings like an i6, but because it has the displacement of a v8, it sounds... large. It's strange.

I'd call it ultra luxury because I'm coming from a plain Cherokee and going into a premium leather interior, Bose sound system with DVD, 2 driver memory position, front/passenger/rear climate control, auto switching 2wd/4wd/AWD, 3 yr Onstar subscription, integrated hands free cell phone, backup obstruction detection w/ adjusting mirrors (mirrors go down when going in reverse and you get a variable pitched squeal over the speakers the closer you come to backing into something)...like I said, lots of things I've never seen in a car before.

I recorded a bunch of Simpsons sound effects on the console voice recorder...been having fun playing those when the situation calls for one.

Aw man, if there were a Mini dealer here I'd get one in a minute. Been holding off because of the 150 mile drive to the nearest one

I heard rumors of an AWD Mini. Probably a good idea to hold off anyway.
