I love it....for about 2 quarters. Only preseason NFL can be so exciting for one half and unbelievably borning for another. I know it has its purpose but I wish they would shorten the preseason to 2-3 games.

And it looks like Grossman will suck once again and be the Achilles Heel for the Bears.

I can't believe that there are Bears fans who think he is even decent. All he had to do last year to avoid criticism was not completely suck every game. what did he do? completely sucked some games. not like had an off game, like I could have quarterbacked the team just as good as he did some games.

At least here in Dallas when someone sucks we tell them and get rid of them.

i have been saying they should have got rid of him 2 years ago. he was getting hurt way to often. people say yeah but he got us to the playoffs! yeah great. Orton got us to the playoffs also. then they brought in a healthy Rex and he blew it.

I am not all that old, but I still remember when there were SIX pre-season games!!! Now that was painful to live through - a month and a half of dress rehearsals.

People can harp all they want about that retarded saying, "defense wins championships", but the best defense is a good offense; the longer you have your offense on the field the more chances you'll have of scoring points (essential to winning, obvious) and the less time you give the other team to realistically have a chance at scoring (no matter how good they are, you simply cannot count on your defense and special teams to produce points).

That being said I think its silly to expect the Bears in their current form (if only they had a decent QB, which is somewhat scary to imagine) to do anything but best the rest of the NFC (assuming the rest of the NFC remains the suck as usual, which doesn't seem likely if certain teams can keep relatively healthy rosters)

Although I guess there is always hope, the AFC teams could all beat each other up and Rex (or whoever might be playing QB at the time) coudl end up putting together a string of games where he does pretty well (similar to Dilfer for the Ravens) and the opposing AFC QB could have an off-game or something

Bears would be an easy pic to win the nfc if it wasn't for Grossman (and this is coming from a Cowboys fan). But you cannot pick a team to go that far when their is a very real possibility their QB will have a rating less than 40. I don't care how good your D is when the QB is that bad in the playoffs you cannot win. Maybe in the reg season vs the Cardinals (even if you are who they thought you were) but not in the playoffs vs the eagles, cowboys, giants, seahawks, panthers, saints or whoever makes it in.

So the real question is: can Rex go 3-4 games in the playoffs without pulling a Rex?
