Ok i work for Intel and we are building a new 300mm FAB there next to the one that is already there. So my question is has anyone ever lived there? What is it like living there and not being Jewish. Prices of cars and such. I just need Info. Info on the web is hard to find if you are not jewish.

Israel, while predominantly a Jewish population, is not exclusively so. However, you will find yourself abiding by some of the religious laws simply because they are observed by the whole country such as observing the Sabbath or purchasing kosher food. The impact on your daily life will vary. For example, not driving into an Orthodox area of town might be odd but did you really have a need to go there? Kosher meat just costs a bit more.

Prices in Israel tend to be a bit higher on many imported products because of the location. For example, American goods will be a bit more as well as fuel (due to obvious reasons). Tel Aviv is a modern city and will remind you of larger cities in the US.

It is a place filled with history, not just Jewish history but of other religions and cultures. There is plenty to see and do that you could not do in the US due to the relative youth of the country. Personally, I would definitely go for a few months or so if there was financial incentive and I would really enjoy it.

I think I've read some stuff from ForumMaster about living there. May be able to contact him as well.

Pretty much. I lived in Jerusalem which is very different than living in TA, but I've been there enough times. It's city life. Not driving on Saturday in certain areas will not be much of an issue in Tel Aviv. Many stores are closed though. Non-Kosher meat is available in Tel Aviv if you are so inclined. It's harder to find in Jerusalem. It will be jarring at first getting used to all the security. Your bags will get Xrayed going into any large public place, and you gotta pass through metal detectors. It's also jarring to see soldiers with rifles all the time, but you get used to it, it's part of life. The culture is different than the US, life moves at a different pace, taxi drivers scream at you, at traffic and at life in general, but the people are generally nice and usually understand English to a certain extent.

It can be a great experience even if you are not a religious person. The place is chock full of history. So much happened there.

Qiryat Gat
I don't know much about Kiryat Gat, I don't think I've ever been there. Perhaps ForumMaster can help you more with the immediate location.

Wow! you'll be close. (I live about 30 miles from Kiryat Gat)
Since I live in Israel right now, you can ask anything, I guess.

There is a LOT to see around here. While we're basically a technologically-modern country, Israel is a bucket full of different cultures from all over the world.
I suppose I can take you on a tour to see interesting things.

BTW...our food always tastes better.

North of KG, actually. a small kibbutz no one knows about.

I don't like Amba, but my little brothers can't live without it.
Maybe one day I'll understand

EDIT: I suppose I should answer the original questions:
No one will really care you're not jewish. If anything...you'll just attract more girls as an American.
Cost of living is a mixed bag - if you're single and Intel pays what it pays it'll be quite cheap.
for a decent used car $4K is the minimum to get something that will not break down every week if you don't know about the cars here.
Forget about performance - the most popular cars have 1.3-2L engines.
The weather is always hot, nearly always humid - nothing special.
Best option would be to find a kibbutz (tiny town) with houses to rent. Why live in a city? Israel is so small you're always close to everything anyway.
