Working on PC when PSU is still warm

Can you work on your PC when the PSU is still warm? Last night, I turned off my PC, went to the store, and then came back and installed my new fan. The PSU was still warm. Everything was disconnected from the PC when I worked on it. Isn't that what really matters?

hmm.. not really though most *techincal support peoples* say let it cool for 2 days but it doesnt matter to me i just go ahead and install the stuff while its still warm

as long as your not working on the psu itself, or like sticking a screwdriver in it, you should be just dandy

Most modern power supplies use a trickle of current whenever plugged in, even if the PC is powered off. In fact, you can see that the LAN lights will remain lit, and the optical mouse light stays on. Usually there is a switch on the power supply itself that will remove all power to the unit in 20 sec or so. Alternatively, you can just unplug the cable, or turn off the surge supressor switch to remove power, if your ps has no switch of it's own.
