Changing temperature would be one of the easiest things to adapt to. Most of the things we use to check temperatures have both scales anyway, it's just a matter of toggling to the other mode with a lot of things.

Distances are impossible to change at this point. Every single road sign is in MPH... that's not changing

A kind of landlord that pays for the heat and has been burned by tenants setting the thermostat to 85 and leaving the windows open. Try paying for oil one winter in that scenario and I promise you would find a work-around too. The thermostat is set to not go higher than the minimum temp the city code specifies. In a drafty building with poor windows, perhaps a few degrees higher.

Besides, the placebo effect works and no tenant complaints.

Women tend to get cold more because they typically expend less energy in movement than a male. Less energy output means less waste heat. In comparison, males have a higher peak output (and possibly lose efficiency in that exchange too) and thus more waste heat that builds up when that output is utilized.

A fat, lazy guy will probably suffer a bit more so due to the insulative fat layer and additional load, but a fat guy that works out a lot will arguably be the worst off out of anyone heat-wise.

When I worked at a dealership, we had the same issue with the women and the thermostats. You had 3-4 women and 1 old man who sat on their asses all day and were cold. You had the rest of us service advisors who were hustling all day, and we got hot, so we wanted it cold.
Manager sided with us. Told the biddies to get a sweater.

My thing with it is, you can always put on more clothes to warm up. You can't do but so much to cool down.

My last visit to the cardiologist was fun. They put me in a room that was well over 80 degrees. It had baseboard heat and the nurse said she turned it down and it was only set on 60 or 70 some degrees. I'm my apt. if I set the baseboard thermostat at 55 the room will be 75. I was going to try to explain about the click sound but a female always looks at me like I'm the biggest idiot on earth because evidently thermostats never lie.

My boss cranks the heat as soon as it drops below 15 degrees...C

I can't stand working in a hot shop so I turn if off at noon and hope he doesn't notice.
