I'm thinking about picking up a iMac G5 and they come configured with a nvidia 64MB 5200 graphics chip. Coupled with a G5 1.8Ghz and about 1GB of Ram would this be enough to make the game playable? My computer uses include little else besides internet, photo, and productivity and so playing Warcraft is really the only hardware intensive application that I use. Any help is appreciated!

I play on an Athlon 64 Laptop and it runs pretty good except in high player-populated areas and atm, i only have 512 RAM. I'm sure it will be fine...except I don't know how these types of games run on Macs. But according to just numbers alone, I've seen people with much less than what you have yet still enjoy the gameplay.

my friend runs it fine on a 1.5Ghz celeron, 512mb ram, 9200 radeon just fine. so i imagine you would not have any trouble a 1.8Ghz G5 is far more powerfull than a 1.5Ghz cele

My wife plays on an iMac G5 (1.6) with a gig of ram and its fine. Noticable difference between 512MB and 1 GB of ram, though.

Vid card is Extremely weak... only weak point...
upgrade the card to a 128meg radeon or Nvdia card 5200 is a notorious poor performer...
other than that solid system

That system is perfectly capable of playing WoW just fine, but you might have to turn down the resolution/features because of the weak video card. A Radeon 9600 would be a much better choice, if that option is available.

Go for the upgrade to the Radeon as suggested. The scenery in WoW is beautiful, so you want to be able to crank up the settings. You can probably find one for a good price at New Egg, too. Just get the 128MB version as suggested before.
