I've been hearing that talked about all day. Coming in mid-inning with runners on is much different than coming in at the start of an inning. Their plan was to have Cole come in with 1 or 2 innings left and hold the lead. Clearly he never had that chance since the Nat's started rocking it.One thing I did pick up on was Cole's anger at not being put into the game in relief, I get that Harris has been great, but Cole's a legit Cy Young contender although there's now way to predict how he would have handled coming out of the pen late in the game.
Yea, and again, sometimes they just put a good swing on a good pitch, when kendrick hit that down, away, sharply breaking slider, I had no idea it even had a chance of staying fair let alone wind up a HR. The Nat's were really good at putting together great AB's in the late innings and overall games 6, 7 were awesome from a MLB fan perspective. That's the thing - it wasn't a bad pitch that Kendrick hit. Generally speaking, that ball had no business being hit for a HR (and barely was). You can't blame that HR on Harris. It was "baseballs fault" Same goes for 1 of those HRs against Kershaw in the NLCS. I forget who hit it but it was low and away and the dude just golfed it out.
