#1 here also.

Katrina's put the eyeball on us, fer sure good buddy.

What, this is a US-only list, right? I gotta believe there's places in Asia that get hammered more/worse than we do.

I've lived in Tampa for 2+ years now. I think this place is fairly safe. We get a few cat. 1 hurricanes that have swept thru here, but those are just big storms, nothing to dangerous.

Oh, and from what Ive heard on local tv stations #4 on the list (tampa area) is rarely ever hit with any decent size hurricane. Its been a long time since a good size hurricane has hit us.

exactly how bad are hurricanes in NC?

I would hate to be living in florida and be reading what forecasters are saying about the next 1-2 decades....

i grew up just a little south of you (hollywood) and my youngest sister, who still lives there, goes to school in nmb. she said that school has been cancelled because of the hurricane (little did i know there was a hurricane; my parents are visiting in ny this week).

so she's all alone and doesn't have school today... in SE FLORIDA!

This isnt the first weather article I have read this. From the article linked above:

"According to the hurricane forecasters, we should be prepared for increased major hurricane activity over the next two or three decades."

I live in Broward.. so I'm north of Ft. Lauderdale. Am I in #1? or between 1 and 3?

However, I do work in Miami.

Did you miss the 4 hurricanes that came through last year?!?
