Second would be Death cab for cutie...(went for the gf)...again, very much like their cd, no stage pressence/excitment...and the fans were driving me crazy w/ their arm waving emo sing along

I saw dylan a couple years ago but was intoxicated enough that I cant really give an opinion one way or the other...I did have fun though =)

yup. weezer is so goddamn boring. they should just put up a screen and play a live dvd

#2 and #3 Bob Dylan

I was suprised, but it was absolutely horrid. First time was Columbia MD around 1991, the second was Tuscaloosa AL around 1993. Awful

I saw Dylan a while back... probably around 97. I don't think people goto his concerts for his lyrical mastery It wasn't horrible per se, but eh... there's a lot of acts that blow him away.

I saw him in Paris back around 1990.

He started off badly, voice creaking etc. Once he got warmed up he was pretty good.

Worst I ever saw live was Boston. Their first album back in the 80's was huge. Great guitar etc.

But they are a studio band, they couldn't do the guitar and tried to get by with a keyboard/synthesizer thingy. Gawd, that sucked.

If shagging is involved, I can understand you paying the price.

My worst concert experience was seeing Garbage and No Doubt. Both bands were great, but Garbage started late, and after their set, it was an hour before No Doubt came on. I was so pissed. What was worse was that my boyfriend and I had to go to work the next day, and the concert was two hours away from where we lived. We ended up leaving about 2-3 songs into No Doubt's set so we could get some sort of sleep (I would've had no problem calling in sick/going to work asleep on my feet, but not my boyfriend).

Worst musically was seeing Boys vs. Girls, an opening band for Garbage. They were so bad, the whole crowd ignored them. They were trying so hard to get the crowd worked up, and the lead singer was getting pissed (as I looked up from my conversation occasionally to notice), but the crowd was like "whatever dudes. Where's Shirley?"

The Mars Volta, opened for System of a Down

My god... it was like fingernails on a chalkboard for 30min. straight.
You couldn't hear any lyrics and you couldn't tell when one song ended and the next started.
Just weird whirling screeching sounds for 30min.

Then System of a Down opened up with Sugar, and we rocked out!

QFT!!! I saw that too

im gonna have to agree here also, saw that tour, o dead good it was bad till SOAD came on

The Mars Volta can be pretty hit or miss with their shows. When they are good they are awesome when bad it can be painful. Saw them in Chicago solo and it was great even with their interim drummer (worst drummer they ever had). Going again next week to see them in Ann Arbor. DLed some boots of the NYE show and Dec. 30th show and they were amazing. New drummer Thomas Prigden is out of this world.

Mars Volta, for the regular person, is probably best experienced through studio albums. There are so many instruments in their band, and when mixed with horrible acoustics, I could easily imagine it just meshing together and sounding like audio garbage. Very few places have great acoustics in all actuality, due to them being multi purpose venues. I want to see them perform at a small concert hall, Detroit has a very good one.. it's small, but rock shows sound pretty good as long as the band doesn't suck.
But yea, there music is really good when mixed together right, but it's just so hectic. I want to see them live, just so I can confirm if they are indeed terrible live. I've had people tell me there are an amazing band to see live, and others have told me they sound like trash live.

also, not all of their albums I can take a liking too. De-Loused in the Comatorium is my favorite studio album of theirs, with Frances the Mute close behind. Amputechture was horrid imho, but it sounds like their new album dropping at the end of this month will be pretty damned good. We'll see if it can even hold a candle to De-Loused'.

It leaked yesterday, pretty good. MUCH better than Amputechture. Frances the Mute is probably one of my all time favorite albums from any band.

#1, his cold may of made his voice sound shitty, but nothing gets in the way of Clapton and his guitar -- not even heroin. And the guitar is enough to make it a show.

#2, if it's the venue that made him sound like shit, why are you blaming it on Clapton?

Haha I remember that year. I went with a buddy and Crazytown came on and no one cared. Then they played that dumbass butterfly song and I remember a lot of people chucking rocks at them before they made an early exit.

Oh yeah and Eddie Money stunk as well. I saw him last year in Cleveland and he was garbage, not even worth the 5 dollars to get in. He is so damn near close to death that he had to keep looking at his Indians hat to remember which city he was in.

Boy, I've been trying to rack my brain to come up with a bad concert and I don't know if I can think of one.

I guess I kinda got dragged to the Eagles in the late '70s and Fleetwood Mac in the early '80s by girls I was going out with. Both are a little too mellow for me, but they were alright.

Mudvayne (not a huge fan) opened once. Nickleback was a headliner, I'm not a huge fan. I saw Dylan like 2-3 years ago and it was just awful seeing as he's old and he's really never been a great performing anyway.

Hmmm havent been to too many bad ones to tell the truth. I go to almost all small venue/mid sized venue stuff so it is usually pretty good. I would say the starting line was probably the worst. I kinda like their music but they played 1/4 step slower than their cd. So it was like you were listening to them in slighter slow motion and you knew something was off and couldnt get into it because the music felt it lost its energy.

The one and only concert I ever attended: Michael W Smith, DC Talk and Billy Graham.
I was forced into it by my mother.

In fact thats probably what kept me from attending all concerts after that.

EDIT:
Cheesy at it sounds, I have been told many times that Bon Jovi holds awesome concerts.

For me it was the Rolling Stones at the Metrodome, sound sucked, band played uninspired. Living Color opened for them. Never saw them before that but they rocked, really enjoyed them, good sound and alot of energy on a huge stage. Suprised by the diffence in sound considring they played on the stage but it was night and day.

The worse was Bob Dylan by far.

Chevelle is absolutely insane when they play live. Pete Loeffler bands his head all over the freaking place and still manage to chunk out some crazy rifftastic grooves.

Ditto. If I ever hear another 8 minute version of Ants Marching it will be too soon.
