I think I've got you all beat. I'm using an 180mhz Cyrix MediaGX right now.

Damn man...I must say mine was an Pentium Overdrive 83Mhz - wasn't too bad, but disappointing for the $300 that I paid. Could have been my ISA video card though

Cyrix P166+ was the worst CPU i ever had...

The guy i bought it from agreed, and gave me a 90% refund on the chip 8 months after i bought it, just because he felt sorry for me falling into the MHZ trap (how naive i was )

Cyrix MII PR300

The only chip I know of that makes a Duron seem to be running cool! I came with the most useless heatsink/fan combonation and got so hot that it started to melt the fan!!

The only good thing was that it seems to take the heat well and is impossible to kill

backWERD, the Cyrix PR200+ ran at 150MHz (2x75MHz). AMD never made a K5 200, the highest the K5 line went was 166MHz. They did make a K6 200 though.

Cyrix pr200 is pretty sweet when you compare it to a Winchip pr200.

Seriously, I'd say the Apple II cpu was the worst. When the Commodore 64 came out I was in seventh heaven. Games ran much prettier and responded better on the C64.

btw - yes, AMD did make a K5-200. I know because there was one we picked up from For Sale/Trade for $15. Yes, K5-200, not K6-200. Its an oddball color compared to the K5-166's we got from there, too. It runs hot as heck for a Socket-7 chip.

You guys are being completely unfair to the Cyrix 200MX
It was one of the BEST chip I've ever had and ever made.

Best chips?? your gotta be kidding ,whilst its buisness performance was good its games performance sucked big time.
As for you made???? eh?

Considering at the time I purchased it when it first came out, it was slightly cheaper than a Pentium 133 NON-MMX
So what if the Cyrix PR200 MX actually ran at 75 X 2 or 66 * 2.5(no it's not 133mhz, it's actually faster) Including FPU, the more expensive Pentium-133 couldn't touch it. I played S-Craft, T-Raider, QII, etc... smoothly on it with voodoo2. Even Half-Life was playable!

No way ,been there done that (little bro's PC) ,he had a Pentium 133 after a Cyrix p150(120MHz) ,the Pentium was MUCH faster in games,a Cyrix PR200 would of still been behind.

I can't say the same for my friends' Pentium 133mhz computers
Then something else was a miss ,what vid card did he have?

See this old review to see what I mean.
I believe the Cyrix MII 300 runs at 233MHz (or is it at 250MHz?)

Definitely Cyrix PR200. Crashed so often that the dealer finally gave me the Intel P200MMX to replace it at no charge.

IDT Winchip 200 in a PowerLeap overdrive processor. Wouldn't post at 60 or 66 Mhz fsb, so it became a P-150 rather than a P-200. It had the floating point performance of a P-100 on a bad day! Even the K6-2 333 in the IBM Aptiva seemed swift in comparison.
And an aside to jsbush: My Celeron 600 is solid as a rock @ 900 Sorry to hear about yours. But I would say my Celeron 600 is my favorite processor, so far!

My worst CPU was DEFINITELY a K5-PR133!
I used it for two weeks or so only to throw it away then in favor of a Pentium 133, which turned out to be my second-best CPU ever (used it for 2 1/2 years...it ran great).
While AMD's K5 was a piece of crap (only marginally faster than the 486DX4-100 I used before), I consider a good old am386DX-40 to be the best CPU I ever had. It also survived several years and when the 486-line of CPU's started to dominate, it hold its ground very well against the "Celeron of the past", the 486SX.

I ran ( and still have mounted on my wall) a K5-133. Benchmarked slightly faster then P-166 (Intel) and was killer to the end.

Mostly depends on what OS complimented the CPU. AMD 300 and WIN 98 totally sucks.
But I remember the good ol' days with a 486/50 and win 3.1 Things were flying!

The worst cpu I've ever purchased was a 750 socket a athlon.
It was a "@#$* bitch", said with my hand on my hip................
Was replaced with a 800 socket a athlon under warranty and it flies

Cyrix 486 DX2 66Mhz. Much slower than my cousins intel 486-25, and couldn't run command & conquer!! (a big deal back then).

Pentium 133, replaced it with a 200mmx Cyrix which blew it away, if that tells you something.
