Might and Magic 9. Was a fan of the series, but 9 just sucked. Extremely boring and had nothing going for it.

Ultima 9 was also pretty bad if you had played the previous games. Terrible childlike story.

Actually those two games above( I've actually completed both and have them in my collection) are decent and far less buggy then Dungeon Lords on the PC ,which gets my vote for worst game ever released,it was just about beta in retail version and even after the patches still a mess,long loading times,crashes,empty world and too many bugs to meantion,end of the day both Ultima 9 and MM9 are far better then Dungeon Lords could ever be.

Yet it shares a lot with Crysis.

It's actually in my opinion the best implementation of DX10 into a game. Boosted the graphics quality immensely and didn't hit the frames too hard.

The difference to me is that I had a lot of fun playing Crysis, as I really enjoyed the game play and open design (I played through many of the levels dozens of times, trying a different tactic each time because it was fun trying different ways of attacking each problem).

As for Hellgate, I dreaded opening that program. It was like a job that I had to do, but really didn't want to. I would often put off playing it, because I just didn't want to play it. It was that game that got me out of my habit of playing each game to completion, since I realized I was getting no enjoyment out of the game and I probably never would.

So, maybe Hellgate had good graphics, but the gameplay was not fun to me. Crysis also had good graphics, but it was the gameplay that left fond memories in my mind.

On consoles there's too many to mention, and I can't actually recall the worst of them all (on consoles that is), but on PC my vote easily goes for Boiling Point: Road to Hell.

Played it for about 30 minutes, turned it off and uninstalled.

I'm having trouble thinking of any incredibly bad games that I've played, but Black & White 2 was incredibly disappointing. Basically, everything that Peter Molyneux said would be in it wasn't - huge creatures, customizable walls, skirmish mode, good AI. It's a cute game, but it felt like someone looked at the original and said "nah, this is too difficult. Let's make the computer 50x dumber, the creatures smaller, and the whole good-and-evil thing really obvious." It was like they made it for 5th graders! The best part of the original game was teaching your creature to do things like learn miracles, play baseball, eat villagers, etc. The creature was totally one-dimensional in the sequel.

Xmen: Madness in Murderworld is pretty much the worst piece of crap i have ever played. Aside from being incredibly boring, the controls were incredibly unresponsive. I remember the most frustrating thing about that game was trying to time jumping over projectiles: hang time when jumping was about .5 seconds.

There was an old arcade game by the same name that was loads of fun. I used to waste so many quarters playing it.

Revenant hands down. Interminable loading screens and long drawn out puzzle quests which, if done in the wrong order, forced you to start all over again.

I don't think I've played many complete and utter failures on the PC. Of all games though, two words come to mind.

Top Gun (NES)

What a complete and rage inducing piece of turd that game was.

I am guessing you never played Top Gun for the PC (not the remakes, I mean the original DOS version that came out around the time of the movie). Nothing like a black screen, with a red cross hairs and some white dots that go by...

Gonna disagree, loved borderlands, great game imo. There have been many many worse games released in the last 4 years.

I jumped on the Steam sale for The Force Unleased also. This game is AWFUL. I thought I'd just have some fun with it on 'Easy', play around with the Force powers, kill some Wookies...etc. Ugh, man this game is terrible, I uninstalled (all 29GB's...) after 20 minutes.

I'll stick with some semi-recent games - Shattered Horizon was awful. I got it on a Steam sale and was excited about it but then found there was only one gun and I never did find or figure out how to get the sniper scope gun. But one gun... this is unforgiveable. And I loved one or two of the levels, the graphics were nice enough and the basic premise seemed fun. They need to mix in an arsenal of weapons like Rocket Launchers...etc.

Other turds - Saints Row 2 was atrocious. It ran like absolute garbage on my old E8400 @ 3.6Ghz and a GTX260. Ugh, and it looked like garbage despite the awful framerates I was getting. I really wanted to like this game too, I was down on GTA4 (it was missing everything fun from the GTA3 games) and wanted a game that restored the lunacy to an urban sandbox game. Ugh, the controls sucked (almost par for the course in this genre) but the graphics and constant stuttering despite awful visuals were too much for me.

but i agree DICE has some poor Q/A and testing issues when it comes to their BF franchise.

Shattered Horizon actually had a patch recently that threw in ~5 guns or so, but I still haven't gotten around to playing it again.

Worst game I ever played? Hmmmmm. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? Maybe.

Is it more aggravating than the driving in Mass Effect?

Luckily the rest of the game was great enough to make me finally push through the driving levels. The first time I played ME1 I uninstalled about 5 minutes after driving the vehicle. The pending release of ME2 made me finally reinstall that game and it turned out to be a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

See BF1942, BF2, BF2142, BC2

Don't know where you're coming from on this, but as a fan of the BF series since BF:1942 I don't agree. All of the games had issues, but overall they were solid and well-constructed, and ran the way they were supposed to. Most of them are still being played today. BF2 still has 150-350 public servers available at any given time.

None of these titles should be anywhere near the list of worst games ever, imo.
