Worst.graduation.gift.ever

So my wife tells me today my mom is giving me, hold on to your hats..let go of all envy........
$25 bucks. Now I am not entitled to anything but what ticks me off is...
1. My mom is not poor by any stretch of the imagination, hell she just bought my step-dad a $700 bow for hunting!
2. She regularly spends 50-100 a pop on my wife/aunt/step-brother's wife/her friends.

I think you have bigger things to keep your mind occupied with than this little issue. You have your hard-earned graduation, the ability and need to find a job, or the start of graduate school. This current issue is small in comparison.

What does she expect you to do with $25? She should have just offered to take you out for dinner if that's how much she wanted to spend on you.

Edit:

I'm just curious to know how your wife knows what your mom was getting you for your graduation.

Maybe your mom is just testing your wife to see if she can keep her mouth closed with "secrets" and you'll blow it for your wife if you say anything to your mom about the "gift" before you even get it.

i had my reasons for asking.

and i find it odd that a parent wouldn't help out even a little bit when obviously they have the money.
