E-trade stock last week. I figured there was more short-term upward correction to be had. I was wrong. I'm considering just sticking it out now, Warren Buffet-style, and seeing if the company turns itself around. A P/E of less than 4 is a lot of growth potential... but a lot of risk, too. Don't really know what to do with it, but I wish I hadn't bought it in the first place.

You too, eh?

That single DVD led to a PS2, a HTIB, and a vast collection of DVDs. I think I'm still making payments on the CC that I used to buy it!

I'd still have the HT bug, if I could afford it. Alas, wife and children take precedence...

I wanted to see RossMAN post in here. That'd be interesting.

For me I'd have to say there have only been a couple impulse buys. The first was this past February I believe when I bought a 5-string bass that was on sale for $200 at Musician's Friend. It was a great bass until I ran into issues with it and had to pay for the return shipping/packaging which was over $100, then the replacement didn't work and they were going to wait until November to send me one (this was in early June). Needless to say after several phone calls and emails I was pretty upset but they didn't care.

My second was a Nintendo Wii about a month ago. I had just gotten a check and saw they had one left at Best Buy so I bought it. I regret that one a lot more than the bass because I feel like at least the bass is something that can better me as a rounded person.

A house when we moved to Omaha. Looked at apartments a few times before moving there. Didn't like what we could go get, so went out and bought a house instead.

Ended up moving a year later.

That was $20k wasted between realtor fees and a $7k drop in home value due to housing market tanking.

Still kicking myself for that bonehead move.

I only buy consoles for fighting games and football...

Agree with the PDA though. I bought an Axim in 05. It's for sale on ebay. I barely ever used it for anything more than playing games.

I've always been sort of frugal, but one of the first summer's of college I picked up a seasonal job that made pretty decent money. I ended up blowing most of it on just stupid bullshit like some clothes and I don't even know what else. Thats how bad it was, I don't even really know what I spent it on...the vast majority of it was wasted and I had nothing of value to show for it. I ended up hurting for cash around march or so the next year.

Still, it was a lesson that could have been more expensive and I returned to my frugal ways since.

Full home theatre system with 47" Samsung LCD, upconverting DVD, PVR, speakers, Monster cables, the whole works, when I really only watch about 5 hours/week (maximum) of TV.

Thankfully I was able to return all of it.

The Mac Mini when it first came out, fortunately the resale value of Mac hardware is pretty good, and I got nearly what I paid for it after I ebayed it a couple months later.

Our house.

Don't feel too bad, I am in the same boat.

I'm just curious...what do you guys regret about your houses?

3 little letters: HOA
I always swore that when we finally moved out of our townhouse I would never again live in an HOA covered community. Also I wanted a house built pre-1970's. I was really kind of answering tongue in cheek as I guess as we will have made healthy profit when we finally sell this house but still I didn't get what I really wanted. It was kind of an impulse buy though as we bought in 1996 right before the recent boom began and had gone to look at the model on impulse when I saw an ad in the Saturday real estate section saying they would guarantee the sale of your existing house. I knew that was too good to be true but my wife fell in love with the layout of the model and the rest is history.
