From the ages of 15 to 25 I had so many jobs that it is a bit difficult to pick one as the worst, but I think it would be when I did overnight stock for toys r us during the holiday season, 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. $3.35/hr could not leave the building

Here is a partial list of the many jobs I have had in the past.........

(in no particular order)

Dishwasher at old folks home
Maintenance at another old folks home
Grocery stock clerk
Orange Bowl fast food joint
Pizza delivery
Pizza hut delivery store manager
Domino's delivery store manager
Jerry's subs store manager
Gas station pump jockey
Ford dealer lube tech
Jiffy lube car destroyer
Auto parts driver
Mechanic for engine swap shop
Cab driver
Courier
Meat cutter
Auto dealer wholesale parts sales
Warehouse manager
Carnival worker
Construction, demolition crew
Roofer
Toys r us stock clerk
Auto body shop parts advisor
Landscaping
Coffee service route sales rep.
Auto dealer retail parts sales
Light industrial at a temp co.
Mr Gatti's pizza/pasta cook
Emergency room supply clerk
Telemarketer for magazine subscriptions

eh, thats all I can recall at the moment, I pretty much had multiple jobs in each of the categories listed, I made a complete list once and it added up to 43 jobs in ten years, since the age of 25 I have been in the same field and have switched companies only three times.

When I was 17, I had a full-time summer job at a food processing company. My job was to take a large peice of plastic and scrape the slimy coating off the inside of large vats they cooked chicken pie yellow goop in.

I've only had 3 jobs so far. The worst out of the bunch was working as a banquet waiter, but at $10 an hour cash I didn't complain much.

crappiest job I've ever had was working at burger king. it was my first job. worked there for two years during high school.

after that, I got a job as a file clerk, and it's been office-ish jobs ever since. only major complaints I've ever had have been about stupid internal politics.

edit: my resume:

burger king grunt
file clerk
art gallary grunt
receptionist
customer service rep
database administrator
special projects manager
data center tech.

Spanky- I would come home smelling like a chicken pot pie. Strangely enough, I never lost my taste for them as a result of that job.

When you were a gas station pump jockey did you have one of those cool belt coin holder things where you press the levers repeatedly to dispense coins into your hand? I'd hate to think of the chicks I could pick up if I had one of those.

Worst was Popeye's Fried Chicken. They get chicken in with the parts separated in boxes by piece type. Empty the box into a deep sink. Piece by piece pull the fat off. Then dump in these bags of salt and seasoning and just tumble it with your hands. Bones sticking in your hands and everything. This in '81. Probably not the worst, but the one that comes to mind right now.

I might have said that the meat cutter job was the worst because of working in a 40 degree cooler all day, but I worked alone, nobody bothered me unless they needed more burgers or steaks.

I would take a full side of beef and cut it down to burgers, filets, rib eyes and N.Y. strips by hand, well there was a machine to grind and form the meat for the burgers but the rest was by hand.

I would take a big ass saw like a tree saw, count ribs to a certain point, hack the side of beef in half (a side was close to 400 pounds) and heft the quarter on to the table and start cutting, at the end of the day I would have to pry my fingers open from the form I made while holding the knife.

I had to wear a chain mesh apron from kneck to knee as well as chain gloves up to my elbows with rubber gloves under that, after a few months of this work there was ZERO fat on my hands/fingers from the effort of holding the knife and cutting all day and from the damn rubber gloves that made my hands sweat like crazy.

Hehe, no coin changer, but I did have the reset key for the pumps, a wonderful little tool that job sucked too, start time 4:45 a.m. had to stick the tanks in sub zero weather, sticking the tanks was measuring the level of gas in the underground storage tanks with this 20 foot ruler.

I haven't had all that many jobs.

cashier at Bradlee's (old retail chain)
McDonald's
record store
pizza hut
blockbuster
lifeguard
mechanical design intern at college, worked for prof
engineering intern at GE Aerospace
management consultant
toy engineer
engineering manager

thinking about flight instructor next on the way to some kind of paying flight gig.

McDonald's was the worst, stupid old people that expected you to know their "regular" just because they wasted every afternoon there waiting to die.

I was a clown doing street advertisements for Pepper's Bedroom City. Got $10 an hour but wearing that make up and wig was a major pain in the ass in that blazing Sun. I did the job quite a few times because the pay was good, we only did it when they had promotions/opened a new store.
