Worst job you've ever had?

So what's the worst job you've ever had?

A job that was so bad you kept looking for something else while doing it?

And what was so bad about it?

I think mine would be when I was part of NOC. The job wasn't intellectually stimulating enough for me.

Either Shift Lead at a NOC (I just left that one) or working at a law library. Since I just left the first job, I'm still a little biased against it.

Working at a coal company picking slate out of the coal as it was coming out on the belt. Picked several tons of rock per day...what a nasty ass job. People were OK but the job sucked.

Nothing is as fun as plunging ****** filled/covered toilets, and changing garbages filled with water/dirty diapers/bees.

Back in high school I worked behind the meat counter of the local grocery store. Lasted a whole week. That was the most disgusting job ever.

I worked at BJ's Wholesale as my first job. I was a cashier. The Supervisors thought the world of me, so did my coworkers. I was late 1 time in 2 years of employment (Apologized profusely for that), and was never written up for misconduct of any kind (Never even spoken to).

But management treated me like crap. I got $.50 in raises over those 2 years. I was consistently marked down on my performance reviews, yet when I asked them what was wrong they never had time to explain it to me. I made a lot of friends, but because of that job, I will never work retail again (Even more motivation for me to get a 4.0 in college )

Summer job painting the warehouse at Monkey Ward. Came home and had paint washed out of my nose from spray painting all day.

Hah i thought my story was unique.

After sams club i went back to college and im pulling a 4.0 too

Not the worst story, but a local pizza place. I'd come in and do prep work at 7am, and would be let off earlier or exactly at 9am, no later. 2 hours per day with $100 paychecks biweekly while having to always go to bed early.

even aside from the whole 8 hours on your feet thing, there's really nothing like working a minimum wage job to make you realize what scum people can be. I got **** on like nothing else by customers while working that job because they thought they were better than me.

same goes for when I worked as a customer service phone rep, but at least on the phone, you can hang up on them

Laying cement in 100 degree weather. It was a temporary summer job.

Melt department at an Iron Foundry.

The novelty of seeing some cool stuff and getting to play with heavy machinery wears off real fast when you realize that the shower is now a lovely shade of grey after a week of working there.

Then comes the burns.

The third shift didn't help.

Then factor in that in the summer, it was always 20 degrees hotter in there than it was outside. 90 degree days doesn't make for a smooth night when you probably do (literally) a ton of lifting and have to stick your face in a furnace full of 2700 degree iron to remove the slag from the top.

The icing is working with a bunch of stoners who think it's funny to nearly kill you on a consistant basis with their stupid actions.

Worst job I've ever had was no job at all. Nothing can beat that.

Delivering newspapers, except we had to deliver to the door, and had to bill collect door to door every other week. I even delivered in the snow and ice during the winter in PA, in below freezing temperatures. Fortunately I only had to deliver locally to 40-50 customers a day, so it wasn't that bad.

Was supposed to be a temp job, I didn't make it to first break.

At a cement plant I was to pick up the bowling ball sized rocks and lift them up over my head back onto an outdoor conveyor belt that was a mile long. There was like a years worth of spillage out there.

After about 400 30 lb. military presses I was done.

bridal consultant at a store in the mall. I never met such horrible, disrespectful women.
That one job changed the way i treat folks working in retail.
