No, I've never heard Elvis sing Lady Madonna. I'm not really a fan of Elvis, but he's got to have the best voice in the history of Rock 'n Roll. Although I suppose fans of Roy Orbison and Freddy Mercury could make an argument.

Another word on Dylan.. Take songs like "It Ain't Me Babe" or "The Times They Are A-Changing" .. his folky voice is perfect for them.

I interpreted the thread to be about singers which were considered good, but we thought sucked. I don't know that the screaming death metal bands or "Emo" music counts.

I like Orbison's voice more than Elvis, but Elvis was a stone-cold pimp, even when he ballooned out.

lot of freaking awesome songs that he stole from much better musicians (though Elvis had a shit-load of talent).

Chuck Berry has to be up there in terms of great R&R voices.
