Elvis could really sing anything.
Ever hear his cover of the Beatles' Lady Madonna?
Too bad that his manager was a greedy bastard that made him tour all of the time, got him hooked on drugs and stunted his growth as an artist.

How about Neal Young?
You obviously never got the Lizards; I thought they were brilliant! They did an equally beautiful deconstruction of Summertime Blues, and really kicked out all the jams with Der Song von Mandalay.Originally posted by: dawp

I think this thread simply illustrates how many emo/screamo bands ATOT managed/manages to ignore. Dylan? Really guys, Dylan? The WORST lead singer? Come the fuck on. Would I ever call him a great (or really even "good") vocalist? No, no I wouldn't; but he's leaps and bounds better than the WORST ever. Have you guys ever heard the pre-pubescent female sounding male leads on half the emo/screamo bands out there? THOSE guys truly suck.
<edit>
Another word on Dylan.. Take songs like "It Ain't Me Babe" or "The Times They Are A-Changing" .. his folky voice is perfect for them.

Billy Corgan hands down.
Robert Plant too. I love Led Zep, but his girly voice and sexy moans date the music.

No, I've never heard Elvis sing Lady Madonna. I'm not really a fan of Elvis, but he's got to have the best voice in the history of Rock 'n Roll. Although I suppose fans of Roy Orbison and Freddy Mercury could make an argument.
