AI has to rank up there a bit.
The sad thing is, it would have been so much better if Spielberg had ended it at the blue fairy scene, and let the watchers cope with the fact that not every movie has to be wrapped up into a happy little package at the end. But he just had to go and tack on the stupid aliens and ruin it
there arent any Aliens in AI (go watch it again). for me, AvP was pretty boring also.
Oh yeah, they were evolved humans or something now that I think about it. Still, it was a horrible scene and shouldn't have been there in the first place
err theres nothing wrong with ai, it just doesn't hold your hand and spell things out for you. the mecha are advanced evolution of robots thousands of years after the last humans have died. think how far the world has advanced since the last 100 years. of course the mecha don't look like robocop.
as for the blue fairy, theres nothing wrong with that since she's virtual. they download david when they find him in the ice and then run him in simulation. they even show a scene where they have the mecha looking at a floating display at the bluefairy/david. it wasn't wrapped up in a happy package really if you think about it. and it was the original ending.
i'd link to the mysteries of ai faq but it seeems to be down
