The Sims: Wow. A game that takes the most tedious aspects of life and makes you repeat them ad nauseum.

I hated Sims 2, because EA basically released it unfinished on purpose as a revenue maker. They left out a ton of stuff that was already in the Sims expansions packs, just to make you buy the expansion packs AGAIN to get them :|

That said, the new Sims versions on iPad and Facebook are even worse. Those basically want you to pony up hard cash just to keep your Sims happy unless you're babysitting them every 20 minutes.

I'm gonna mention a second game, since re-reading through this thread: Bioshock.

I got it cause my wife said it looked awesome and loved the trailer for it. So, I bought it off of Steam and I couldn't get into it to save my life.

I didn't like how hard it was compared to other FPS's at the time. I mean, I beat Crysis on the hardest mode possible and it was nowhere near as irritating.

Maybe it's just the game's style, but I didn't like it. My wife on the other hand was hooked with the story. A story I couldn't get into cause I was dying every so often. Imagine my dismay when the wife told me, "Bioshock 2 is out, are we gonna get it?" and I just said, "Did we finish the first one?" She wasn't happy and still isn't about not finishing the game. So she resorted to reading the storyline online.

Thank you internet.

Killing Floor. I was heavily into L4D and some friends recommended Killing Floor as being L4D like and that they were having a blast at it. I tried it, couldn't get into it. It was nothing like L4D. This was when L4D had been around a while and L4D2 wasn't out yet. Thankfully it didn't cost much. But often with PC games you get what you pay for.

Other than having "zombies" and being FPSes KF and L4D are not much alike.
With that said I enjoy playing KF, but I have to have a good group of people to play with. Without a good group the experience will suck.

Weird I've never heard Bioshock called hard before, if anything everyone said it was too easy.

My worst game is one I can't really remember the name for, played a lot of crap games in the early 90's but I've forgotten the names for them a long time ago. Back then I had no way of telling whether games were good or not besides just looking at the boxes so I remember getting some that were pretty terrible.

Ditto. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bioshock was notorious in the gaming community for being way too easy.

If you never modded the config files to fix the aiming and tried mostly using guns, I could see where someone would think it was hard. Prefixing it that game made me feel like a retard when I first found the revolver and tried using it to kill people. It was almost as bad as deadspace unfixed.

Wait...people found bioshock to be hard? Seriously? I thought it was basically baby's first FPS...I don't think I died a single time in that game.

Yeah, first I heard of this as well. Bioshock was always made fun of for being easy when it came out. Especially with the whole no penalty for death and not being far from spawn and the enemies didn't respawn when you died.

That has got to be the worst game I have ever played, with the bugs and screwed up game mechanics.

BF3.

Pre ordered. Game launches from a web browser add-on ( worst idea ever conceived in the world of pc gaming )

Game crashes constantly while every other program I have runs fine. If I am able to join a game, the game will crash 9/10 times when maps are being changed and then I'm forced to go back to the looking for server web page and try to find another server to join.

I did get refunded.. but still. I'd like to play the game. It seems that it was released without enough testing. The whole website interface thing is just horrible. PC games should launch on the system and have in game menus to find servers and play. If a person wants to interact on the games website, that's on them. It shouldn't be built into the game or have the game built around it.

Haven't played it myself but I'm surprised to hear it's that bad, seeing how popular it is. I know there were some graphic driver problems.

Based on my personal experience and the reported experience of many, BF3's crashing problems are due to faulty hardware or video BIOS. BF3 just happens to be the only game affected for now for whatever reason (first game using full DirectX 11 capabilities perhaps).

And seeing as how you don't own the game I don't think you are in a valid position to make a complaint about Battlelog. The vast, vast ,vast majority of players think it awesome.

I couldn't think of one for the longest time..then I remembered one from many years ago: VIRUS

The description sounded pretty cool. It was a FPS space shooter that used your pics as backgrounds of the environment and it was pretending it was a virus infecting your files. Unfortunately, the idea was much cooler than how it was implemented. Not only that, the game was horrid.

Yeah, but it was the worst purchase for him, because he coulsn't get it to work, and he spent a lot of time to try to get it to work, so it was frustrating.

I had a similar experience with DA:O. The DRM involved kept me from playing the game for a week, since the authentication server was down for a few weeks, and EA took a long time to figure that out. I moved on to other games, but I had a very poor opinion of DA:O because of that. A few months later I tried it again, and really enjoyed the game, but if I never managed to play the game I would still feel it was a very poor purchase.

In my case it was because I had to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to just attempt to play, and it was frustrating since it was supposed to be entertainment not work. I have avoided all EA games since, because their customer support was heavily lacking, and I don't want to have to work so hard to play a game again.
