Worst performance gaming when upgrading from 16 gb ram to 32gb, ram

Maybe not the brand so much as if the RAM itself is lesser. Or maybe you put them in the wrong slots.

What are your full system specs? Did you remember to apply the XMP in BIOS? The new RAM may be running at a lower speed and needs to be configured. Or it might be that they are in the wrong slots, as mentioned, so might not be in dual channel. Also, I assume you took out the old RAM and aren't mixing them?

Dunno, thinking about taking out the new ram, and sending back to amazon. And trying out a different ram, Maybe Acer ram.

Maybe since my motherboard is Acer, an Acer ram would be better?

yeah, I took out the two 8 gb acer ram, and put the two 16 gb teamgroup ram's in. It's reading 32 gb. Just slightly lower fps when playing cs2 with the new ram

Is this a pre-built Acer? There may be an option in BIOS, there may not be. Sometimes OEM motherboards don't have the option or don't work well with faster RAM. If you know the model, you could look in the manual to see if it is possible.

Probably not getting xmp settings as oem boards dont always support it.
Run into it all the time when people try to add ram to hp boxes.

Yeah before giving up, I would at least explore the BIOS setup and see what options you have for XMP and such. Also, what CPU do you have?

No xmp option is there. I checked.

Ah that is too bad. What is the current speed your RAM is running at, and what was the old RAM running at/rated for?

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-9400f-processor-9m-cache-up-to-4-10-ghz.html here is the specs for your CPU. Looks like it officially supports JEDEC standard up to 2666 MT/s. It may be that the old Acer RAM was detected to that, and the new RAM is only running at 2133MT/s...

Anyway, I'm back to my old acer ram. There was nothing wrong with it. I was getting good fps.

Yeah, in the future, you might be able to get more benefit from a CPU upgrade, or a whole platform upgrade. I would generally recommend against common pre-builts though, best to either build yourself or have a custom build made for you.

Sometimes you have to click an Advanced option and it takes you to a screen where you can tweak settings that the average user won't understand and which could render the system unbootable if the user doesn't know what he's doing.
