leather recliner back in november-december.

$800 and I've sat in it, like... three times? it seemed like such a good idea in the store, but when I got it home, I remembered how little tv-watching I do in my living room because my computer's in the bedroom and I'm a compulsive multitasker.

runner-up might be the $40 compressed air toilet plunger I bought this weekend... it got great reviews online, but didn't do a thing for the huge clog I had. so I went out a bought a $5 snake that fixed it in 30 seconds (although the clean-up was gross).

$12 for a pair of universal remotes off woot. They're pretty much useless...i can't even give them away. Just splurged on a harmony. should've just done that in the first place.

Subscription to AT forums. The contract ends in 2 years.

Rossman said if I want out before that, I have to pay an ETF. So I guess I'm stuck.

At least he gave me unlimited posts.

If you've got a TV with HDMI, you've still got a great upconverter. If you invested in a lot of discs, that's another matter.

haha that's an expensive upconverter.

Not really ... after price-matchs from Amazon I paid considerably less for my A30 then I would have for an Oppo.

The 18 HD-DVD movies I purchased on the other hand might be the worst purchase I made in 2007.

Worst purchase? I bought Cubs / Cardinals tickets for STL from a broker site, then had nearly everyone bail on the game. Cardinals were coming off a World Series win, tickets were expensive. Season began, Cardinals stunk, ticket resale value tanked. Then as if it seemed nothing more could possibly go bad, game was a blowout loss.

Don't feel too bad ... I bought Mets post-season tickets!

(I got all my money back but it was still unpleasent)

It always amazes me that people still think escorts cost fifty bucks. Thats what a toothless crack whore costs if you wanna bone her in the street.
Two hundred is actually a good deal in most places for a classy escort chick.

Portland supposedly had the highest density of strip clubs in the world, and you would still have to pay around 300-400 an hour for a girl here.

Go to TER. Much better girls than CL.

- EDIT -
For me: Just about everything in the past year. I got fired about two weeks ago, and now it seems like all the junk I aquired was a big mistake. I loved my La-Z-Boy when I got it, now it looks like 400 bucks worth of dead weight to me.
I dont wanna deal with having to move all this new furniture when I get a new job.
Also bought a nice, expensive dresser. 6 huge drawers and the thing weighs a little over a hundred pounds. Cost me about 700 bones.
Hate it. Too much for me, but I wanted to have nice things.

I think the worst purchase was a 360. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, now I know. People are dense. The handful of games I like are available on Windows now.
This thing sucks but I cant find anyone local to buy it, and I hate dealing with unknown people online.

"Neat to try one out"? Meaning he'd never actually owned one before?
Sorry to hear about that. Was it one of the expensive custom models from Japan?
Or was it a cheap American brand you find in Walmart?

Probably that refurbished Netgear 802.11g router that I bought from Woot. It was only $20, but the damn thing crashes and kills the wireless connection every 48 hours or so.

Honestly, most of the purchases that I get from Woot are disappointing. There is a reason why they're so cheap!

lol. after reading some of the posts I remember what my most useless things I brought last year. A water pressure washer. With tax, that thing cost me about $150. I use it exactly once.
Another thing I regeted buying was a Legend keyboard. A few day after I got it, I got a key stuck - send it in under warranty. That got fix, but now it got into a habbit of double or triple types on some keys. The right shift key seem to stuck sometime... Swap back my old keyboard and I am much happier.

It'd be a memory foam mattress pad that I bought from overstock.com. I can feel my hard bed through it.

I bought a 32" Vizio LCD for the home office in our new house (and the wall mount to go with it). I use the TV a lot, and I do like having it hanging on the wall, but I should have come up with a way to use one of the two perfectly good CRT TVs that are sitting in the guest room right now.

I have cable running to the office, but not digital, so no HD (except on the rare occasion that the HD OTA antenna gets a signal (that would be my second worse purchase)).

So, all around, buying and having the LCD is a real waste.
