What is the worst town or city you've had to live in and why?

Philadelphia, PA. Second rate, wanna-be, nothing to do, grey, "also ran" sport teams.....I could go on and on. Been living here all of my life and I can't wait for the economy to turn around and for my wife to finish grad school so I can leave and never come back.

i have lived in a dozen towns.

erlanger, ky was probably the worst. i was only 8 but i remember how wild those people were. such trash, it was unreal.

There's NOTHING left in Camden. Their biggest business comes from the prostitutes alond Admiral Wilson Blvd.

Still, you have to go just a few miles south to my old stomping grounds in Delaware County to Chester, Pa. for real hopeless devastation. It regularly shows up in the Worst Five Cities in North America type polls. And I grew up swimming competitively in the Winter for the Chester YMCA! We used to kick the shiat out of those hick/beloved patriot Pennsyltucky dweeb towns like York and Easton. Then, we'd outrace them, as well!

now, the drive there from dallas or any other east city place sucks a$$
perhaps is a good town to raise kids, but can't even get a beer at the local store b/c is a bible belt town......
thank god only spend 1.5 years there....only good thing were the clubs, where all the good old christian girls went wild...may the lord be blessed!!!!!

I live NEXT to a wonderful place called "Fairyland". The worst part is easily its name, but it gets worse when you realize they stuck with the naming theme.

The streets have names like "Red Riding Hood Trail", and "Peter Pan Road". Not pretty.

The small town of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. When I was a kid I lived there for two and a half years and was delighted to move away. The place had absolutely nothing fun. Plus, I never saw so many sexist and racists bigots in my entire life.

Grew up there for 10 years of my life. The public schools there aren't the best in the world let me tell you. Glad my mom moved to Florida

sunny, what's wrong with Davis?

I've been there a few times and it seems nice if you like the environmentalist, small town college feel..

Natural power buses, lots of shade trees and parks, cheap all you can eat chinese restaurants (yum!), some smart people..
I've had friends of the family who attended or taught at Davis and liked it.

Not to mention, it's used to a bicycle town, and so still has a lot of bikes, bike lanes, is bike friendly, etc.

It's one of the few towns I've been to where most of the drivers seemed sane and considerate of each other too. =)

I imagine living there could be a whole 'nother story, but what didn't you like?
