neverwinter nights 2 - such a good game with amazing characters

and an ending that was obviously rushed, depressing (rocks fall/everyone dies), and narrated by someone with zero voice acting experience or skill

Though Ghouls & Goblins is probably a close second (You have to replay the game, again. No saves. Nintendo hard.).

Almost every game on the NES.

That was due mostly to storage limits, but a crapload of games just said:
"Thank you for playing!" and that was literally all they gave you.

New Doom was lame.

For a game that's supposed to not pay attention to story, it actually spent a considerable of time building it. You are also stuck and forced to listen to story cutscenes for quite awhile in mid-game.

Then the ending is completely bonked.

I mean... is it a wrong assessment? I don't really have a comment regarding it (aside from the fact I actually dislike Bioware RPGs.. prolly in minority there), just from my understanding, most were *very* upset about the pre-DLC ME3 ending.

Yeah, ME3 was the worst since it trashed such a great trilogy. They should've planned out multiple possibilities for the ending due to the fact that you could have made so many different important decisions starting from ME1 that carried over to ME3.

That's too much work, and by that point they already have all your trilogy money so they couldn't care any less.

For a trilogy that was supposed to hinge on every decision you make, the ending was a slap in the face to some.

IMO all choice = the same

I played the game, and while I found the ending mildly dissatisfying it's also a million miles from "worst ever". It did a good job of giving a sense of despair in the face of overwhelming odds, and an ancient horror returned to wipe out life. Do I wish it had been more impacted by my decisions throughout the game? Sure, but to some extent that would be an impossible task.

I said probably. By couching my statement with the understanding that I hadn't played it, I was accepting the possibility that I was wrong. Given statements from others, it seems I'm not terribly off the mark. Anyhow, I provided an alternative that I actually *had* played.

It's probably notable that I, having only played the first one, knew enough about how bad it supposedly is to comment on it first. I mean, you have to rank pretty high up there.

Similarly, I know Planet 9 From Outer Space is likely the worst movie ever made (or at least worst rated), despite never having seen it. I also know that the Durian is probably the most disgusting fruit one could procure, despite never having sampled it (or other similarly disgusting fruit). Sometimes reputations precede.
