Worth upgrading to 1 GHz AXIA T-bird?

I have Duron 650 @ 975 now and I plan to buy a 1 GHz AXIA from newegg and overclock it to ~1450 MHz. I am selling the Duron for $50 and the new T-bird is $160. Is it worth $110 extra for just 375 MHz?

If you do gaming, then it's not that worth it 'cuz you'll be better off with a faster video card. If you're more of a graphics artist, web-based projects, and similar stuffs like these, then the Tbirds, extra cache would help out a bit when you run these apps.

Probably not really worth it - I thought about bumping my 800 TBird (running 900/950) to a newer chip, but the reality is that you would probably not notice a huge difference in most apps.

With amd dropping prices in a few days your axia may be even cheaper. Just wait a week then decide. A better video card may be wiser though, depending on which card you have now.

Wait for some time yet. I am running a measly 700@900, and I'll be waitning for the palominos (if I can resist the upgrade devil for that long ) BTW it is 475 mhz not 375

I am using Geforce 1, the worst geforce ever made, 32MB, SDRAM.
Yes, I think the video card limits my 3D performance.
I play counter-strike.
I think I should wait for palomino. Has there been review which estimate the overclockability of Palominos?

Form what I heard you can get one hell of an overclock with those AXIAs, I have a t-bird 900@1100 and im gunna switch over to one of those suckers

I just got my AXIA (like an hour ago), & it's up & running at a casual 1400 MHz. 40% overclock without even breaking a sweat. Too bad my damned motherboard doesn't like FSB's much over 140, otherwise I'd really push it. I really must get myself a KK266R.

Ok, if I want to get a new video card, what should I get? The Geforce1 is running perfectly. I like it...... During smoke grenades, fps drops to 30s but cs is still playable. I want to wait for Geforce 3 to drop in price till about $200-300. How long would I have to wait?

Like, nippy & nic said, the prices will be dropping soon. If it's nice and low snag one, I know I am. A $100 to $200 drop on the GF3 might be atleast 6 months or more. You could probably pick up a GF2 Ultra pretty cheap after the GF3 is released.
