Question Would 750 Watts Be Enough For My Build Or Should I Get 850 Watts Or More?

My GPU says it needs "minimum of 750w power supply or greater", I suppose that is for the card alone and not the entire computer. My MOBO requires 70 watts. I suppose I should buy a 850 watt power supply right? Or even more?

A good quality 750w PSU would be plenty. You can always go bigger, but you don't need to.

The GPU can pull around 300w in stress tests / power virus utilities, and that leaves plenty for the other components.

Be careful making these decisions. If your a gamer & use games that utilize Unreal Engine v4.2, that engine can be a power grabber because of poor optimizations.
With the rig in my sig & an all core OC @ 5GHz, stable with LinpackXtreme. I was playing the outer worlds yesterday & in the players menu when doing something, I noticed my watt meter as measured by the wall plug was pulling 550W! & this is just in the ingame player UI menu.
This maybe an isolated case but a fair warning imo. My humble RX 5700 XT has a TDP of only 225w.

That likely had more to do with your overclocked 11700k than with the GPU though:

Nah, typically the watt meter only shows around 400w or bit less during game play. In HWiNFO, cpu package power tops out at 170w max after a session. I should add this is at 1440p on a 144hz monitor.
The point I was trying to make in my earlier post is that you can't trust code to run optimized & there will be times when poor code makes drastic demands on a system.

When they make specs like this, they are just trying to hit some conservative number that if you had some mediocre PSU rated for peak wattage at 25C temp, you should be okay stability wise, at least until the mediocre PSU fails in a few years (maybe more, maybe less, many variables involved) from extended gaming causing high heat in it.

In general, the lower quality the PSU is, the more you have to overshoot their spec for minimum to run a particular card and have good PSU lifespan, or vice versa, as long as you don't exceed the PSU's max sustainable output.

The video card spec'd minimum PSU wattage is for the whole computer, but again makes some conservative assumptions about typical power consumption of the rest of the system.

First I would consider how long you want the PSU to last and how much each additional year +/- that lifespan is worth more money. I'd budget around $150 for the PSU and go higher tier before higher wattage, but I would get at least 750W rated, is easily obtainable at a $150 budget. These are covid era prices, post-covid, let's hope $100USD buys what $150 buys right now!

This is in USD, and in context of your total system build cost, but also, only 1TB SSD is kind of limiting for the rest of the build cost. I'd at least throw a few TB HDD in for bulk storage, unless you have a fileserver or fast NAS for bulk.

850W / Gold - $110 for an EVGA

I 've used them before and had good luck with them standing up to different configurations from dual GPU's / mining to just sitting in the corner being a NAS. The oldest one I have is a Supernova G3 and it's been up and running for ~4 years now.

I would head over to https://pcpartpicker.com/ and plug in all of your components to get a power draw estimate and size accordingly. IIRC my system w/ 12700K now w/o a GPU comes in @ 400W.

Always a possibility. Compared to what I could pick up locally that's DOA vs not having issues with more than one EVGA in builds means I don't have to dry fit or use a PSU diagnostic plug before mounting / connecting all of the looms.

I'm always a bit leery about certain components though if they're not priced within a certain range of where they should be. Knock off brands sometimes are just as good since they're mostly all made with the same components.

Always do your homework before putting down $100 and having to deal with returns / swaps.
