Would a 26db fan be reasonably quiet?

My YS Tech 26cfms are too damn loud for my liking. They are 33-36db depending on where I read.

I see a 32cfm 26db fan, (this site rates the GW FOP32 at 26cfm 36db)

Do you think that this 32cfm fan would be signficantly quieter?

I'm ordering an Enermax Whipster Series 430watt (EG451P-VE)...and want a couple quiet fans as well.

Yes, it will be. 10db is a low whisper. 26db is significantly quieter than 36.

My delta is damn loud, I wonder if the ys tech fan would help make it quieter, or maybe I should also order a 26db gw fan.

just get a stereo in your room and turn it up heh.. naw my case fans arent that loud as my cpu fan drowns them all out

Just remember decibels are logarithmic.

Hearing is a perferance to ones ablity to hear well,so what you hear as 26 db will be diff than what I hear .But I think you will be oK with that 26 db level.

That used to work but A) I want to be able to sleep with it on and B) I play DVDs on my computer, when the DVDs are quiet I don't want to hear my computer's fans over the speaker output...thanks though.

Yeah dB are logrithmic, as I recall the scale is 1.122 so a 10 dB is a 3.16 times increase in sound level. I just don't know if that will be enough lol...my system is pretty damn loud.

That is the acoustic energy, not percieved sound level. Every 10db is percieved to be twice as loud. So, the 26db fans will be half as loud as the 36db ones.
