Would adults enjoy Harry Potter?

Or would only kids enjoy the movie?

I made the mistake of seeing "Spy Kids" last summer -- that movie would only be good for kids to watch. As an adult, I did not enjoy that movie. The only good part was when the little girl said, "Oh, sh1t...taki shrimp" or something like that -- never saw a kid that young say the "s" word before.

I've read the books, I'm 30, and enjoyed them. They're more or less geared to kids, but there are certainly a ton of adult readers as well. Just my 0.02

I am 28 and have read all the books, and am going to go see the movie in a few hours.

I didn't think so...until I saw the trailer in the theater, it looks unbelievable...So my GF and I are going (I'm 27, she's 28)

I'm 26, I've read all the books. My wife has read all the books. I've pre-ordered tickets for a 10pm showing tonight. She almost convinced me to leave work early to see it sooner. I'm saving that option for Fellowship of the Ring though.

If you have any kind of imagination at all, you'll enjoy Harry Potter. I have yet to talk with someone who didn't enjoy the books, adults and kids both, and the books were certainly aimed at children.

Would I consider Harry Potter a spiritually moving experience? No, but you wouldn't consider Star Wars one either.

IMHO, the books are great for adult (both ny 51 y/o parents loved them), but the movie is targeted for a younger audience, and i doubt they will be very enjoyable to the older public (i dont even think i'll like the movie much, and i'm 17)
