Hey, Lads,
I wanna get a couple round IDE cables -- specifically for a floppy disk drive and CD-RW drive. (I'm staying with the flat ribbon IDE cable for the HD at this time.)
I've scoped out a few round cables out at Newegg and ZZF, and I'm wondering if you guys can recommend any brands over any others. I'm seeing mainly Cooler Master, Thermaltake (yuk), Orion Pro Series, and "house brands." Reading the customer reviews on the sites, the most common complaints seem to be that the sleeves at the end of the cables, where they meet up against the connectors, tend to "slip down" the cable a bit. Others complain that the pull tags tend to be flimsy and break off easily. "Don't pull on the pull tags" was stated more than once.
Any of you guys use any round cables that don't have either of those problems, and if so, where'd you buy 'em? Of the two, I'm more concerned with pull tags that stay on than I am with a sleeve that moves a bit. Of course, build quality & thus data integrity is foremost.
Thanks in advance.
