Would living right next (about a half mile) from a major highway with trucks hurt your health?

Depends on whether you live upwind or downwind of the highway. If downwind, the closer you are to the highway, the greater are your chances of being exposed to particulates and other pollutants.

There is evidence that suggests negative health impacts from such exposure but, like a lot of pollution related issues, it is not an open and shut case. If the apartment closer to the highway was more convenient, I'd live there

I seem to be doing ok 24 years living within a 1/4 mile of two hugely busy highways, one of them being I-80.

Air quality seems fine to me.

Yes. But how significant an effect it would have is the question.

I doubt it, as I lived less than two-hundred feet from a major highway for over eight years with no health problems.

I live about 1 mile away from I-5... No harm to me ...

Maybe it's due to the hills with trees on em... :Q
