Too much trouble, I'll see if I can find it in my archived PM's. First I have to find which computer it's on, the file name, so it may take a while.
Just turn on PMs. I promise not to send any more pics of my naked self.

The most effective would be people chilling the f**k out and realizing that race to get to your next shopping experience so you can just reduce savings/increase debt can wait and isn't important at all.

I find it simply amazing how easily people are willing to take other peoples safety into their hands because they are in such a hurry. Slow down and relax.. you are a loser if you care that damn much to rage over a person going 10 under. If that really gets to you that badly then what happens when life deals you a REAL problem?
You're probably the loser I was stuck behind while driving myself to the emergency room last month.

DEFINITELY! However, most holding up traffic would be declared destitute in court so it's not profitable.

as usual, you're wrong. FoBoT was right on the money with the 'zipper' merge. surprised a lot of you don't know any better.

MUST READ : http://blogcritics.org/scitech/article/heavy-traffic-the-great-merge-debate/

When there are still two full lanes, fine.
Once the zipper has been activated, 3/4 lane or less is unavailable - barrels or cone are in the actual lane, then you should be in the proper lane. Merging at that point slows down the forward momentum of the designated only lane because you are forcing vehicles to decelerate to allow the poacher in without an accident.

Inattentive drivers are just as bad if not worse. They're not paying attention to their surroundings while driving which is the most important thing to do while driving.

I tend to agree. I'm not saying aggressive drivers are safe, but the fact that they're paying attention usually means they react in some way resulting in near misses. People who aren't paying attention run people the fuck over and then put on their brakes. Based on local traffic fatality news it seems to be most accidents are caused at least partially by driving drunk, then distracted driving and then driving to fast for conditions. That's saying a lot since we don't plow our roads worth a damn up here.

are you suggesting that 98% of the cars being 'impeded' are not exceeding/or attempting to exceed, the posted speed limit?

which law takes precedence?
or i guess they can just ticket everyone, sounds like a win-win

If people would just stop acting like the existing laws (including speeding and following too close) don't apply to them...road rage incidents would be reduced anyway.

Speed limits are in place for the lowest common denominator, ie: those that are unable to operate their vehicle safely at higher speeds. In other words, stupid people. This is why cops generally don't ticket every speeder they see all day long and why they don't obey the posted speed limits themselves. They ticket speeders just to make their quotas, if they are actually driving recklessly, and if you are a dumbass that gets into an accident because you drove faster than your tiny brain can handle you will get a ticket if that speed is above the limit as well. Of course there are a few lawful evil cops who will ticket people regardless of whether or not they are driving dangerously, but they're just the ones with god complexes. But those douchbags will still drive above the speed limit in most cases as well.

But you're not as cool as oldsmoboat is

Do you have a basement like his?
Basement: Yes
Like his: the "mold" for that was broken when he signed off on it. Replica's do exist but are unable to conform to specs.

I was one of the few that was able to escape from his.

I will not reveal my method of extraction

I deal with this shit daily. I drove 6600 miles since December 3rd in my car. With over 4 weeks had it sitting in an airport garage.

Two days ago some fucknut old dude in a 911 vert smoking a cigar was doing 50 in the express lane (posted is 65). You have to pay to be in it and it's price rises the more traffic increases...I could only think he was fully vested in that cash cow. I finally got next to him (after dipping my lights a bazillion times, having him try to flick his ash up, then some beeps as I don't like to pass on the right of any one)...once I [told his passenger mostly] to get the fuck out of the fast lane in rush hour traffic, he just shot me a middle finger. I really wanted to cover him in some Fox 5.3 >

Not only the slow bastards in the left lane... but those f*ckers who, when one lane is closed for construction or whatever of a two lane highway, think they can fly by the entire line doing 80 MPH and sneak in at the front of the line. If I'm up front and one of these bastards is trying to get in, they're getting a nice dose of the bird. F*ck you, you're waiting just like everyone else.

Amen. One guy had the nerve to try to merge behind me, say fuck it, and merge in front of me. In the end I had to let him in since otherwise he'd be stuck behind the barrier (he deserved that anyway), but after that I just kept my highs on him. Does that make me a dick? Probably, but if everyone else is one might as well be one too.

I had one guy brake checking me even though I was at least 1.5 car lengths if not more behind him. I flicked him off. When the traffic got to stop-and-go he came out, walked up to my car window, and shot me the bird back. I laughed in his face. Isn't brake checking illegal anyway?

except you are mostly blinding oncoming traffic.

If I'm doing 65 in a 65 and someone is flying up doing 85 behind me, should I get out of the way? Does it matter that I'm a legal speed and the other person is not?

Yes, you should get the fuck out of the way. No one asked you or gave you the responsibility of impeding traffic. Two cars could drive 55 miles per hour side-by-side on the interstate if they wanted to (since cops rarely seem to pull anyone over for it), but they would still be self-righteous assholes who are creating congestion and making things more dangerous than they need to be.

In short: If you aren't passing someone, stay out of the left lane.

I barely exceed the speed limit, but that doesn't mean I want to sit in a double line of 200 cars.

Don't even get me started about the fucking idiots I encounter on an almost daily basis. And this is me barely going 5 over most of the time.

Since I've moved to Texas a lot more people are better about getting out of the fast lane regardless of speed. A few still don't. I also hate how people speed up as you try to pass. And how people try to avoid the line and cutoff people to make turns and such. I never let them in and flip them off in the process. Fuckers can wait like I did.

People seriously drive like they own the road. They are completely oblivious to the traffic around them. I'm scared for my life sometimes.

Today I saw an accident right in front of me after I parked for lunch. A woman in a BMW ran into the back of an SUV at a red light and high volume intersection around noon. I suspect she was texting and not paying attention or doing something. I only caught the actual crash. It was funny seeing her almost crash into oncoming traffic in the lane over because she didn't look.

I wonder how people make it sometimes.

I like how our pacifists like to claim they also block lanes despite tons of traffic.

actually in some (most?) states you are required to get over, regardless of speed.

The people who sit in the left lane, and think to themselves "I'm going the speed limit" while traffic piles up behind them, are the #1 cause of congestion.

Seriously, get a clue and get over.

First thing I noticed when I got back from Iraq (where I became a hyper-attentive driver due to IED's) was that most people are seriously clueless as to what is going on around them. And it's not just in cars, I see it in grocery stores, in the mall. Even on foot, most people are in a daze.

This.

This should be the first life lesson every parent teaches their child. You are not the only person in the world. Be aware of your surroundings.

Road rage will mostly go away once we switch to self driving cars. We have the tech to do it; we just need to start getting the public ready for them.

In Southern California to little impeding is enforced. People seriously need to get in trouble for causing hours worth of traffic. Punishment is required for those who refuse to drive in effective ways.
