He's all CG and I just never could "buy" him that way. Granted, I was a kid when the first movies were made, so my palate may be a little more refined today, but I HATE the overuse of CG in movies today. Don't get me started on the "shaky camera" thing, either......

Yoda was a puppet in Ep I, cut CGI in II and III.

Agreed. Look at Lord of the Rings. That is my perfect example of CGI and real life blending together. They limited CGI use through most of the movie making most of the scenes look breath taking.

Maybe if I couldn't instantly tell it was CGI I would have such a problem, but I can.

that doesn't make sense. theres tons of cgi in lotr, it doesn't just enhance, it replaces when possible. the only bad cgi is insufficiently advanced cgi. there are some scenes they just couldn't do no matter what they spent on "real". i guess the problem is when you succeed at fooling you get no credit as it gets labeled as a real effect when it wasn't.

as for yoda. you cant judge cgi by that, the films were cr@p in general.

I'm not saying that they should get rid of all CGI effects in the Hulk. I'm saying it should be a mix of costume/makeup/CGI effects for the Hulk (like how they do Hellboy -- I loved the first movie) instead of having All-CGI for the Hulk. Having an All-CGI Hulk seems too fake in the first Hulk movie.

As for his height, I don't remember Hulk being 15 foot from the comics. He wasn't that much bigger than the Thing from what I remember in their classic Jack Kirby drawn fights. I only remember him getting stronger the madder he gets.

Agreed. CGI has become way overused. It made the new Indiana Jones horrible IMO.

good luck creating a 16 foot character beating the shit out of things with a real person

Most people I don't think know this part of the hulk from marvel's universe.

He is about 6-8' in unpissed off hulk form. Once angry he just keeps growing and growing and getting stronger.

They couldn't make a believable scene in real life of a 16' pissed off hulk hurling 100 tons+...in the 'stats' of the universe I believe they never state a limit on his strength..

uh... the Hulk is between 6'6" and 8", depending on which version:

Text
Height

5' 9" (Banner), 7'0" (Savage Hulk), 6'6" (Joe Fixit),7'6" (Merged Hulk), 8'0" (Green Scar)

He is however correct about the Hulks strength ... it was limited only by how angry he got & theres no way to show him for example hurling a skyscraper at a bad-guy without CGI effects.

dude...you are just googling so why not google hulk's MAXIMUM size and not just his resting stats before your go off disputing others.

I really hate when some tool comes in, does a quick google and then acts like an expert.

The Hulk doesn't grow when he gets angry. He gets stronger, sure, but he doesn't grow vertically. His MAXIMUM size is 8'

I like how Alkemyst slams somebody for doing SOME research on their facts, then he presents his version of 'facts' with no research or proof. As if the blabbering from him is the truth itself only because he spoke it.

srsly

& I knew it was bullshit initially because I read most of the Merged Hulk storyline when I was in middle school and the Hulk was definitely never 16' tall. THEN I googled.

I would rather have a CGI hulk than this http://www.thefirstman.com/images/banner.jpg

I think CGI is bad when it is overused, or stands alone. Then it stands out like a sore thumb.

The best implementation of CGI I've ever seen is the first Jurassic Park movie. To me its been the CGI that seems most real to me, and I never knew why. Then when I found out how seamlessly they blended animatronics with the CGI I then knew why it the CGI was so convincing. You have something real, and built on an unreal scale (like the T-rex animatronic) one second and then CGI that is made to look just like something real that you just saw but with more freedom of action. But your still in awe of the real image that the CGI sneaks by without standing out.
