That's worse than the OP's. GTA4 needs a decent quad to run well and it needs at least a 1GB video card as well.
I would think a dual core PH2 with a GTS250 would be far more capable than quad PH1 and a 4350. 4350? seriously? you cud pair that with an i7 980X and you still wouldn't get anywhere.
you could always go for the cheap athlon x4s though
I read the patch notes for GTA4 on steam April 13. they said:
-Rendering optimizations have been made to improve performance, particularly when enabling shadows
-User-configurable graphics settings have been added for shadow control
-Improved memory management
so maybe they fixed some FPS issues with that patch?
Yes it's a crappy video card but in GTA4 gfx cards mean less than the processor does.
my friend runs GTA4 on an e8600 and a 4770 at 1280x720 he gets about 40FPS avg. If graphics aren't that important he would still get crappy framerates at that rez.
I got a solid 60fps with shadows turned off and everything else maxed on my X3, which now an X4. I just can't figure out how to change my sig.
