so my bro is visiting for the next week or two...been gone for a while doing USAF stuff...all is cool and things were going good until tonite...
i drove his ass around today to find some ****** for his costume..and then left him with my roommate (also brothers old roommate) and they were hanging out, drinking, etc...
ok...so ive also got a new puppy...and from time to time he gets yappy when he knows people are here but arent playing w/ him...a problem i'm still trying to iron out...so they are outside and the pup is barking...they let him out...supposedly tie him up...this is all cool...

WELL...i get home about 6 hours later and the poor guy is hiding in the bush...shivering and whimpering...apparently they didnt tie him up and they left him in the cold...on top of all this...my last dog just died and if this one would had run away...i probably would have killed my brother...but luckly he is the best dog ever and just stayed put. anyways...i called my brother to ask him wtf his problem was and he was too drunk to talk to...so i took him in and got him all warmed up and clean...he is fine and just as happy as ever...but i am still extremely pissed...even if he was drunk he should have been smart enough to bring him back inside before they left...i manage to do plently of things more complex than this when i'm drunk, so he cant give me the 'i was drunk' bullshit...
i really miss him and enjoy hanging out with him since he is gone all the time now, but this is really making me angry...i'm thinkin about asking him to stay somewhere else while he is here...that or beating the ****** out of him...

cliffs:
bro left my dog outside in the cold unchained/fenced
i am very mad

i aggre with you OP, u can talk about me, my family, and i dont give a damn. hell you can even actually attempt to mess with me, dont give a damn, but motherf***er if you f**k with ANY of my dogs, i am very likely going to be in handcuffs as they cart u off to the morgue. u can hunt animals, slaughter cows, run over cats even, but having the audacity to to do ANYTHING harmful to the single most pure and innocent (not to mention one of the most helpful to human survival in our early years) animals on earth and there is no penalty too stiff. sorry to rant on your rant but this is the only subject i ever put any emotion into and leaving a puppy outside would make me want to beat his ass with a shovel and leave him outside for a week, see how he likes it. rant off

I hate to say it because it sounds harsh, but I think telling him to find someplace else to stay is the best course of action ... (better then beating him up for sure!) ... my bet is he'll do the same kind of thing again if you let him stay with you & you might not be so lucky next time around.

It isn't right that he left your dog outside and it is understandable that you are pissed considering the situation. But I believe asking him to stay somewhere else might be a bit much, he is your brother and you said you like spending time with him. Wait till his is sober talk to him about it, if he isn't a complete asshole he'll understand where you are coming from and probably won't make the same mistake.

Oh what kind of puppy? Have any pictures

Dude, some of you people take this stuff way too seriously.

OP, your dog sounds like a pansy. What do you own, some sort of poodle?

Leaving a dog outside really shouldn't matter at all. Indoor dogs are great and all, but a little time outside never hurt anyone. It was whimpering? Jesus

morgash: i love my dogs and all, not enough to kill someone, but easily hospitalize
cap: i beat him, lol
overlord: agreed, i just beat him instead
i saw oJ: because they are awesome dogs, they dont have ****** the size of my head, and many other reasons...different breeds have lots of different traits, i just love wiener dogs...
eeezee: its pansy for a small dog with little fur to be outside in <50 deg weather for 5+ hrs...fvck you...if it was a dog that was suitable for cold weather (huskie) i wouldnt have cared...the main reason i was so pissed was b/c it wasnt tied up...
iron addict: taking karate this sem...but i could kick his ass before...and still do

update:

i gave him a beating...he appologized...the dog is here and its fine...thats what mattered most...he said he wouildnt fck with it again...so all is well i suppose

Your brother is a drunk. What do you expect? When people are drunk, they do stupid stuff. You probably do stupid stuff when you're drunk too.

I'd be mad, too.

OTOH, this IS your brother, and you don't get to spend much time with him. Don't let it spoil the time you do have. Let him know what you expected, so he'll know next time. And next time, don't create opportunities for him to repeat his mistake - because you know he will.

Raise hell then let it go. The pup is okay and family will last a lot longer than any dog.

Gee I guess you like your dog more than your family.
Its like if your house was on fire, you'd save your dog first.

Brotherly relations are too important to be cut off like this. Sure i would be mad, but you have to explain him what he did wrong and why you are so angry. But ask him to leave is literally ending a relationship. family relations deserve at least a second chance.

Think about it when you are calmed down. everyone here has done really stupid things before, i would beat him up for that, and then lend him a hand to stand him up. whatever people do, family is family.
