Would WoW be laggy if I tried playing it in my college dorm?

Depends on the dorm, some have a better connection than others.

WoW does not depend on nanosecond response times like FPShooters, so you will likely be good to go.

Both of the major universities in my area have a T3 connection, so probably better. I often use the university internet to download youtube videos because it's so much faster than my home connection.

well keep in mind that at least with some colleges, the bandwidth is spread out amongst users. the more people online and using bandwidth, the slower your connection will be (which was the case with my alma mater). so you will DEFINITELY be more laggy at peak usage hours if you have a shared bandwidth setup at your college

WoW takes very little bandwidth if IIRC. When I played, I also downloaded things at the same time and never had very much lag.

But, it's very very dependant on latency and connection quality. If you've got slow packets and not all of them are arriving, it will be hell.

A university may have a T3 connection, but at any one time, there might be a couple thousand people using that connection.

Most colleges these days will ban your machine if you download from p2p/torrent sites.

I played WoW quite a bit in college and graduated with a CS degree (not some retard business degree or something)
