Would you attend a party with a $1000 cover charge?

My husband's friend will be attending this party. :Q

I think that a $1000 cover charge is over-the-top, but I suppose it isn't too much for those with money to burn. I don't think I would pay over $50 for any party, regardless of who would be there.

What better way to show people that you have money than by blowing it on stuff that the rest of the world would kick your ass for spending it on.

That reminds me of an MTV "Punk'd" I saw with the actor in "Napoleon Dynamite."

Does anyone know the episode I'm referring to?

hahaha no way.

my boss got invited to a dinner that cost $3500 per person for the cheapest seats, he declined. I think the most expensive table was $500,000 but you got a whole table (for 10 people!) all this special stuff like being called an "event sponser"

I think he knows that, but in the Bahamas he may not be surrounded with a plethora of women.

My husband's friend is a very nice man who has spent most of his life working for the almighty dollar. Now that he is more financially secure, he is looking for a woman who is interested in a serious, long-term relationship. Even if it starts out under the premise of a golddigger (which I would imagine most of those women are, it not many/most women, unfortunately - myself not included, as I supported my husband through grad school and paid for our first few dates together ), he is hoping to find true love.

Apparently that website/service focuses on matching gentleman who make 500k+ with women interested in serious relationships.

I watched a section of their intro video and was sad for those women, but if that's what they want (to be homemakers, etc.), then so be it. I guess some men might want a woman to stay home and cook/clean/etc., maybe it isn't as easy to find a woman who wants to be a housewife nowadays? (I'm certainly not one, we shared household duties equally)

Was it for some sort of political fundraiser?

Only if I was guaranteed putang from like, ten different girls, all hot and disease-free, at once, at my leisure, for a week. That's an expensive party.

My experience has been that really expensive parties (or even moderatly expensive ones) are only a good deal if you derive a lot of enjoyment from being at a really expensive party for its own sake. Same goes with exclusive clubs, VIP tables, etc, etc. Taken on their own merits, it doesn't seem worth it. So you better like being on The List...

who'd he know?

A pimp.

I think that any guy can get in as long as they're willing to fork over $1k. It appears to be open invite, and there is an e-mail address to write to for an invitation. Maybe the girls need to know someone to get invited?

"What this will mean is more beautiful women, and less clean up!"

/me takes the tissues out of his pocket. Sweet! more room for lotion.
