Kind of depends on how much I was making before the raise.

Depends on where you are in your career.

If you're in your 20's and starting out, 1% raises are largely unacceptable.

If you're in your 40's and 50's, it doesn't hurt as much.

It's still basically a pay decrease, though, given inflation.

OR here's a 100 gift card with a personal thank you for your hard work instead without a raise would be 10000% times better.

I live decently well off of what I make. If I got 1% this year, I wouldn't be too upset about it as it wouldn't hurt my lifestyle, but I wouldn't be happy either. 1% is better than 0%.

Depends what I got last year and if I worked or coasted.

I expect a bigger raise per year(and have gotten it 4 years running) by making sure my performance does not drop while I aquire new skills and responsibilities. I work for a small to medium business so I go to the owner and tell him I want more money. I am blessed to be able to do that.

To a minimum wager, 1% = about $3 a week.

normally it would be, but its a family business. i have more at stake than getting a 3-4% increase. its also contract/ bid work, so we have to stay cheap. which also sucks.

I'd be happy as it would be better than nothing. I reached my salary cap, and they took away our cost of living raise and bonus years ago. So what I make now is what I will always make at this job.

No. Since I make my company a lot of money a 1% raise wouldn't make me happy.
