I don't even know how to answer that. How could consciousness be a fundamental feature of reality? Consciousness isn't some kind of element. Something in reality has to be conscious. If reality as a whole is somehow a conscious entity, then I would consider it to be another kind of life-form that is probably part of a much larger evolutionary process. I still wouldn't have any reason to posit that God had anything to do with it.

You're pretty handy with insults.
Spelling ..notsomuch.

You don't know why everyone thinks you're dumb. It's not simply because of your belief in mythology.
Hint: zinfamous knows the correct spelling of diabetes.
Speaking of medicine; Here's something about 1/2 of the team that invented antibiotics:

Chain was actually the lead on the project.

haha, teleological. Haha.

I liked the part on "evolution's moral implications."

I wonder sometimes -- what are the "moral implications" of other well-established scientific theories like the kinetic theory of gases? What are the "moral implications" of electromagnetism? Does gravity command me to push people off tall buildings so they can follow their natural geodesic? Gravity must be stopped!

To answer my own question, yes, I would likely accept that consciousness, in any form, could not be woven into the fabric of reality at a fundamental level by accident. Believing it to not be an accident is about as far as I could go however. Even that would be a faith position, although for many people a fairly justified position.

Pretty early on,I'd guess.

Chimpanzee-human? NO

Accuracy of dating? FAIL http://www.theguardian.com/science/2012/jun/10/fossil-dating-row-sima-huesos-spain

Neanderthal to human? It's not looking good for that.. http://www.reasons.org/articles/neanderthal-to-human-link-severed

At the end of the day,They're still Blackcaps and Finches. They can still interbreed with each other(within their respective species),no matter how far removed.
And guess how important this is to evolution being true or not: 0%. Not at all. Doesn't matter.

"Species = must be able to breed with other members."

"Different species = cannot interbreed."

Guess what: These definitions weren't something handed down to us by some designer. They're arbitrary.

A plant can't mate with an aardvark, and a sparrow can't mate with a hawk. So what.

Adaptation is adaptation.
Lots of adaptations piled on top of each other can add up to big differences, so much so that it exceeds the arbitrary boundary condition of "cannot reproduce with one another anymore."
That process just typically takes longer than a few human lifespans. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

If you feel your posts are misrepresented you should be clearer when wording your posts; you've played the word usage game before just like a lot of other people including Christians (witness schmuckleys posts in this thread), and then complain when other posters call you on it.

What play on word usage? Like I said, the context helps determine the actual meaning of a word that has mutiple meanings.

You simply aren't comprehending...don't blame me for that.

Literally everyone else in this thread understood the use of "convert" in this context to mean "persuade" or "convince," but you piped up with a bunch of bullshit because you took it mean "foricibly reprogrammed" -- an entirely novel usage which nobody here but you ever implied.

The problem here is you and your comprehension problems. STFU and GTFO.

WTF are you talking about? You were the one blabbering about how you didn't believe in "conversion" because it implied persons were being compelled against their will, when nobody means anything of the sort when they speak of conversion, and then you go on to chide other people for failing to comprehend.

If you're going to employ an uncommon usage, it is incumbent upon you to make clear your meaning, otherwise you're just an asshole.

lol, only atheists make the existence of God seem up for debate, when rather, believers are only concerned with understanding God (which is why we have so many different religions).

Its been settled, really -- we're so passed that.

I believe that one day we will get irrefuatable proof, which hasn't come yet.

Two ideas that say contradictory things, yet exist in the same mind. In fact they were state directly one after the other with no thought at all to their contradiction.

Doublethink is the act of ordinary people simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct, often in distinct social contexts.[1] Doublethink is related to, but differs from, hypocrisy and neutrality. Somewhat related but almost the opposite is cognitive dissonance, where contradictory beliefs cause conflict in one's mind. Doublethink is notable due to a lack of cognitive dissonance — thus the person is completely unaware of any conflict or contradiction.
