I figure why not? I figure I can get one decked out(w/ 4 controlers, memory cards, etc) for around 80 dollars, and the games... well, lets just say that I can get the games real cheap()
I figure 80 bucks for something to play with a bunch of friends when we are just chilling in my room is worth it

I recent bought a DC bundle at $100 and I'm thinking about buying another console unit for $50 as a spare.

And if you are going to get games the "ummm cheap" way, what's the question? It's a $50 outlay. Some will spend that much at the bar and have only a hangover the next day to show for it!

aww.. Actually I called the question stupid, not you. Questions don't have feelings.

But if you feel bad about it, go buy a dreamcast and lots of great games at 10-20 bucks a pop and you'll feel immensely better

yes $50 for a Dreamcast is a great deal, I payed $200 for mine on launch day...

even though the Dreamcast is offically "dead" there are tons of great games out there for this system.

Yeah definitely a good deal, especially if you're not looking for the latest and greatest games and just something fun to play. Dreamcast has a great library of fun games that will keep you busy for a long time. To date it is still my favorite recently released console.

Be wary. My company sold lots of those units and 100 came back faulty within 6 months. We ended up selling the units for less than £2 each.

I think the ol' DC will be making a visit to the relatives for thanksgiving this year. A nice tradition I started back in 1988/89 with Nintendo and Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

RUN, don't walk over to BestBuy and grab the DC for whatever they're selling it for. It will be on sale there for $49.99 Friday and saturday only. The ad should be out Thursday. Get the price adjusted later, when the store ain't so busy.

My mother already told me not to show up without my DC, Maracas and Samba De Amigo.

Picked up my dreamcast bundle for $75 last winter... Really glad i did, lots of great games.

Heck, you can get most of the best games for $10 right now...

Short Favorites List:
-Jet Grind Radio (sorta like a car chase-game on skates)
-Tony Hawk2 (fun trick skating game)
-Soul Calibur (sweet fighting game)
-Crazy Taxi (fun game, cool music)
-Shenmue (for people who like HUGE RPG type games)
-PSO (careful though the online play has been hacked to death, offline still fun diablo type game)

Well, these are the ones i play the most...
I still unplug the PS2, to play the dreamcast every other week.

OHHH, try the dreamcast with the VGA adapter-($10-15), on a computer monitor the detail is sweet.

No, I wouldn't buy it. There is one across the hall in my dorms, so I just go over there. Virtual Tennis 2k1 is damn addicting!!

If they didn't have one and I wasn't a poor college student, then yes, I would buy one,.

$50 isn't a bad deal. Quite a few games are available for it and you can get plenty of them used. I paid $300 for mine (import) and haven't regretted it. Most of the game I play are imports (mainly fighting games) and I've used my DC plenty since I bought it.
