Would you consider the GTX1060 3GB worthy if it was 25€ cheaper?

We all know that 3GB is not a huge amount and that its' hardware is also cut down a bit...but comparing it to other NEW (no used stuff) cards....with a X-25€ price tag...do I have another worthy alternative?

TYPO IN THE TITLE, OF COURSE I MEANT THE 1060!!!

Sorry, I was not fully awake at all yesterday

I wouldn't consider a 3gb card currently especially at a price difference of only 25. Just save up another month or two and get the 6gb version. Alternatively, look at an AMD RX480.

Jesus H christ it's just $25 extra for whatever part that lasts for 2-3 years. Do you all really think people out there have nothing better to do than to overanalyze the shit out of price brackets like these forums do?

I dont think $25 bucks is worth the loss of memory and performance you would get over just saving up an extra $25 bucks and getting the 6gb version.

(sorry for my English guys - I am not a native speaker).
IMHO no it doesn't, but there is a kind of paradox. It may worth in some situations ( just like mine). I'm a very usual PC user, loving games but not very experienced in powerful graphic cards and hardware though I have seen and read a lot of reviews and comments. Yes, I know the more memory the better as well as some other aspects, and I would start from 1060 6G. But my budget is extremely limited. And I cannot choose the great AMD rx470 with 4G of memory, because... my budget is limited and my power supply would just die with this card! Also, I like my small case, but it needs really cool stuff. I could choose 1050TI with 4G, but... 1060 3G seems to have much better FPS in the most games. The price - in my case - is the same because 1050TI prices are a little crazy, and I have a discount, so 1060 3G price is actually like 1050TI game versions or cheaper here, and 1060 still looks better, and they will probably be outdated at the same time - quite soon.
Why I described my boring situation - I don't think it's unique, so... I think sometimes, rarely, this card may be not a good, but an acceptable choice. If you have little money and it's really all you can afford for this this year and you need a cold graphic card which needs only 400W power supply.
But your other hardware is quite powerful, so I do think other guys are right. You'd better save some money and choose something else.
(And I don't think those "you, with your nonsense and poor hardware, we, rich and busy, how dare you" is OK in any community. IMHO. It's about one of the previous comments... Oh my Glob, really? do you guys, so rich and busy, really think anybody in this world can buy GTX1070 or something like this every year? I just don't want to believe all hardware and game community members are just aggressive and not very smart and tolerant people, like in the place where I live)

here is some perspective from Canada.

I bought the Gigabyte Windforce 1060 3GB model. Why not the 6GB model? That was nearly $80 more. A 1070 goes for over $500 here.

The 470 8GB cards are $50 more than the 1060 3GB. The 480 4GB cards are $40 more than the 1060 3GB.

I prefer Nvidia based cards. The 1060 3GB was a huge upgrade over my GTX 650 TI Boost. It runs quiet and plays Bioshock Infinite like a champ. I only game at 1080P so this card works perfect for me.

Plus I am on a budget and this was a Christmas present to myself.

A 470 would work fine on a 400w power supply... All of the cards you listed minus (maybe) the 1070 would work on a 400w power supply provided its a decent quality unit and not junk. Should work. The 1070 might even still work on a 400w power supply depending on what else you have running in your case. If its just a modern Intek processor (e.g. sandy bridge era or later) and 1 or 2 HDDs + 1 or 2 fans then even a 1070 would work on 400w (provided the correct PCI-e 6 and 8 pin plugs are there)

Its a great chip hobbled with insufficient vram. The product itself would have been better with 6 gb of slower vram (7ghz or even 6ghz) and calling it the 1060 lite.

Yeah, if they made it $40 cheaper it would totally be worth it. I'm not sure how that converts into GBP.

I got a 1060 3GB mobile. Its amazing, kills it in blizzard games at ultra detail 1080p. Getting over 100fps easily. Don't play too much hardcore games, but will try later. I don't think i get those numbers on insane with my 1080 at 1440p.

I picked up a Gigabyte GTX 1060 3GB Mini ITX for our media center PC. Initially i didn't know that there was anything different other than the VRAM between the 6GB model. So i got "burned" considering the chip is 5%/10% slower than the 6GB model.

With that being said, I'm actually very happy with the performance of the 1060 3GB. So far it's been working fine for my use case.

It's primarily on a 46" 1920x1080 TV and on that it can play games like Fifa 2017 and Dragonball Z Xenoverse on High with 2x/4x AA

I've also tested on a 55" 4K TV. With a 4K resolution and High detail and 2x AA it can play Fifa 2017 just fine. I havn't tested any other games yet.

I'm going to test Shadow of Mordor, but havn't gotten around to it yet.

As for pricing. Here the 6GB model is around $350. The 3GB model is around $280. I picked up mine for 2000NOK which is around $230USD.
