Would you continue to work if you won the Lotto?

Some central park cleaner dude just won 90million ! Doubt he will be working ever again. But some people are just plain workaholics, or "Truly" enjoy what they do and might work as normal.

lol

If i get 90mil, i'd still work, but at minimum hours (and and of course, if i dont hate the job). Life can get very boring if you dont have anything meaningful to do...

hehehehe....

Well, I would probably still try to work, it depends on how much money I won.

Also, it would also depend on the job. Right now I would probably just quit, not that I don't like my job, its just that I would not be able to continue working here with a ligher load and still keep my job

Tech market is just too flooded with qualified people to not have to work your a$$ off to keep a job

I would take a job to add some meaning to my life - to give me a reason to get out of bed and have some sense of achievement, but I would not really work, per se.

I would also try to find something that would subject me to *no* personal liability for anything heinous that I did to anybody else while I was *working.*.

Maybe I'd just become a professional john in Nevada.

Winning the lotto seems like a pretty hot deal to me.

I think that there is so much to experience out there in the world that if I won the lotto I wouldn't work in the 9-5 job sense of the term. I would pick up my trusty 12" PowerBook, get some wireless internet, get an amazing digital camera, and a bunch of other travel-friendly gadgets and gizmos and head off to travel the world. CANADA would be my first stop. j/k

Managing your money and fending off greedy manipulative family members is a job in itself.

But anyway, isnt it statistically that somewhere around 75% of the lottery winners end up broke? i remember reading it somewhere and the reason for it is that the mindset of the average lottery winner is one that already cant handle their own money (read: white trash/welfare minority/trailer/multiple kids etc) so when they get this big break then they just spend it all or get it all scammed from under them.

A good old AT HotDeals Forum member is who the money should go to. We've all proven that we know how to be cheap-o's with our money...

I'd put it all in safe municipal bonds and mutual fund accounts and live off the interest for the rest of my life. Even if they only draw at a terribly modest 3% rate, I think I can live on two million a year.

Well... I mean, if you think about who really plays the lottery (i.e. people who just like the odd chance, and those who are addicted)... they're not exactly people who mange their money that well... makes sense that a lot of them are broke. I mean, the odds of winning the lottery are so obscure, it's like hoping two $100 bills in your wallet will have babies...

Where is your sense of adventure? Investing in the lottery might be safer than investing in some stocks - like Enron.

No. I'd do the things that I wanted to do in life that I couldn't make a living at. I'd be spending the rest of my days living as a playboy. I'd ski all the continents and take up professional auto racing on the side. I'm sure I could fit a few parties in once in a while.

I'll tell you who play the lotto: the poor. The lotto is the sickest exploitatoin of the poor in modern times. Only poor people play, and the only poor people that become rich, end up becoming poor again.
