Would you do heavy labor for 100hrs/week for $6000/week?

There are days when I would love to go back and do that rather than walking some paper around an office for signatures and dealing with the average office employee.

I'd do it, but not indefinitely... maybe a year or two, then take a year off to relax and travel with the cash I earned.

And it was for 3 years.

This. Unless medical/disability benefits are through the roof, I wouldn't do it. My health is worth more than that. Just need a colleague to slip up because he's overworked, and you end up under a heavy piece of furniture at the bottom of a stairwell, as a new quadriplegic.

Realistically I'd kill myself as I don't have the strength and/or stamina to do that. I only weigh 135, so it isn't like there is much to me to haul stuff around

I'd definitely do it, although I am skeptical that he is even making 6grand a week. Your saying he makes $60 an hour? Sorry, but there is no way he making that kind of money, your typical mover will make minimum wage up to $20. Even with time and a half, say he worked for $20 an hour.

So:
44x20=$880
56x30=$1680
total=$2560

Sorry but I don't see him making more than $3000 a week.

Movers move some really heavy stuff and you need to be in top shape to do that. Not sure how long one could do it before they throw there back out.

Last time i moved, two guys unloaded a 17 foot u-haul truck in about 30 mins and carried it all up 3 flights of stairs in 90 deg heat.

I helped as much as i could, but i am not a young kid anymore.

I did one trip from Seattle to north Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Colorado and Utah in 15 days. I made some coin, and hired young guys to do much of the work.
Now I would not even want that drive.

at 60k/yr, your tax rate is like 25% fed.
at 300k, your tax rate is around 40%.

and lets not forget state, which is up to 10% in calif.
so 50% taxes plus medicare and some social security

I paid less than 8% effective rate in taxes this year and I make plenty more than $60k/yr.

I wouldn't do 100 hours for $6k/week, but I would do 50 hours for $3k/week.
